Goodness, you’ve resorted to quoting Oscar Wilde.
‘I have nothing to declare but my genius’
Great. Sounds like a wonderful man.

Here’s a gem for Ginger and co. from the genius himself:
"Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing"

March 7, 2012 at 16:22 #395207Chelt Spec, I know you are keen on Sword Of Destiny, but I really don’t think he will travel. This horse is very ground dependant and it certainly looks like the ground will be too fast for him. Meade has already suggested that this would be the case.
Lovely horse for next season’s winter ground mind.March 7, 2012 at 17:11 #395212Chelt Spec, I know you are keen on Sword Of Destiny, but I really don’t think he will travel. Lovely horse for next season’s winter ground mind.Hence the NRNB, my feeling is the same as yours but if he shows up it’ll be because the ground is deemed suitable and his price will tumble.
Most of my bets are of a similar profile, currently overpriced if they run, money back if they don’t. It can be frustrating, last year we were on First Lieutenant for big money at 33/1 NRNB for the Supreme, he was in my festival yankee too luckily I managed to get most of that bet changed to The Neptune on the Monday but at SP only, big difference. I’m still convinced he’d have won The Supreme.
The one I’m really keen on is Askanna in the 4 miler, I can’t for the life of me understand why she’s not at a single figure price and I’m into her for £200 EW @ 50/1 NRNB again of course.
Check her win at last years Punchestown FestivalMarch 7, 2012 at 17:51 #395217Askanna will stay all day long (until Friday, actually) with his/her breeding. Friend of mine mentioned him/her last night, but only 2 runs over fences, right?

Yes, two runs both over 20f but she’s won two points before running under rules. He first chase, she won and had the RP analyist drooling, I’ve re-run that race a few times, I’ve been very impressed by the sharpness of her fencing.
Second run means zitch, she had to hurdle a faller immediately after clearing the 7th fence, never recovered her composure and was pulled up, reported to have got a kick and got unsettled but showed he agility.
Although she’s tiny she’s very brave, if you rerun her Group 2 hurdle win at Punchestown you’ll see how she copes with a barging match coming into the straight.
Also check the quality of the field strung out like washing behind her. (Mossey Joe, Battle Group, First Lieutenant etc etc)March 7, 2012 at 20:26 #395238WISHFUL THINKING!!!!First L wasnt behind her that day or any other day.
March 7, 2012 at 20:48 #395239I have looked at a few of her races and have to agree she is very interesting. Regular pilot will be on board (not many could boast that) and she has a weight allowance. 50/1 NRNB is far too big, so I’ll be dipping in/ Small stake mind.
It was Last Instalment that was in behind.March 7, 2012 at 21:41 #395243I have looked at a few of her races and have to agree she is very interesting. It was Last Instalment that was in behind.Ooops, Correct Aston, I always gets those two mixed up in my head, I’ve been watching too many replays this week

See first reply, it was Last Instalment , a better horse than First Lieutenant any day you like
March 8, 2012 at 01:50 #395283Not better over hurdles! But not bad form any how.I think that race in Punchestown was one of the most competitive novice races run all season in Ireland, the race was full of winners and a heap of horses have came out and won 16wins-9 horses and 7 placed in around 10months.Also worth noting he bet Alle Garde around 8’s for this race 14L.
March 8, 2012 at 01:55 #395284Just looking at the stats, Nicholls has a woeful record in the race(FAV) and since ’97 there have been big price winners such as 14/1,33/1×2,40/1,25/1 and 16/1 and only 2 favs have won in this time.Had a dabble!!!
March 8, 2012 at 02:25 #395286The race has only existed since 2005…
