What a stupid, horrible, pointless race that was. God knows why anybody is reading anything substantial into that. Could have called it a Class 3 event and nobody would have known the difference.

January 1, 2012 at 18:19 #385284Colossal boost to the Fingal Bay-Simonsig form with Barbatos winning the opener today. Highly doubtful though that Fingal Bay and Simonsig will clash at the Festival.
January 1, 2012 at 18:36 #385288Where do you think they will end up? Henderson has already stated that Simonsig isn’t going up in trip and I can’t see him being quick enough for the Supreme even in a poor year. That leaves him the Neptune or wait for Aintree. It will be disappointing if Fingal Bay goes the Bobs Worth route particularly if the ground is on the soft side of good.
Have just backed Make Your Mark for this race. Probably didn’t beat much on debut but couldn’t have won any easier and given his lack of experience the longer race would seemingly present the better option. Moves well and quicker ground should be an advantage rather than a problem. Would definitely prefer him to Boston Bob.
January 1, 2012 at 18:54 #385290Would be surprised if Fingal Bay doesn’t go for 3-miles. It’s obvious he’s an out-and-out stayer and will need heavy, let alone soft to have enough gears for the Neptune IMO.
As for Simonsig, no clue what Henderson will do with him. I very rarely look at the novice hurdles before February. He has Tetlami for the Supreme?

Chance that Speed Master and Broadbackbob are also in his thoughts for the Supreme, although the former could be aimed at one of the handicaps.
January 29, 2012 at 00:48 #388849I think we’ll see Marasonnien, Broadback Bob & Vesper Bell running in this.
February 2, 2012 at 12:55 #389446Really amazed to see Broadback Bob not entered for this race.
February 3, 2012 at 09:46 #389588One less to compete with Sea of Thunder then Zarks
February 3, 2012 at 10:02 #389589Like the look of Folsum Blue winning at Clonmel yesterday. Very impressive performance beating a decent field of winners.
16/1 a fair price, Gigginstown have a good record in this. Conor O’Dwyer states he’ll be aimed at the race.February 4, 2012 at 13:27 #389787At the moment, can not see past Boston Bob and Sea of Thunder. At all.
February 4, 2012 at 13:41 #389793A shame Criminal (ironic name, if any lawyers are reading) Henderson hasn’t got any potential runners otherwise you could fancy him strongly instead.
Perhaps you and Fist could hold a competition to see who’s got the brownest nose?

Who is fist, and what is your problem? You have issues.
February 4, 2012 at 20:05 #389861Ongenstown Lad not amongst the final entries
No news on an injury, nothing. Very poor fare from connections
February 4, 2012 at 23:44 #389881I am on sea of thunder. his ratings are too low he was poor last time and should have been a lot closer regardless of ground preference. He was going to murder a poorish field at cheltenham so course suits but i am jumping ship. BOSTONS BOB will win if lining up no doubt!!!!
If not, Ipsos will be the one, lazy type but echoes a lot of decent staying hurdlers who need a bit of rousting along. I am seriously excited about this one!!!
February 4, 2012 at 23:57 #389882I’d say Charles Byrnes was happy enough with Sea Of Thunder’s last run Sketti. He ran a decent race without getting competitive and there didn’t seem to be much confidence in him beforehand. I think Mount Benbulben will prove to be his biggest danger. I’ve always liked him and Gordon Elliott has already shown himself to be masterful at getting them ready for the festival.
