Like trying to find a lively outsider for this one and who better than the filly set to follow in the hoofprints of Cachet and trained by one of the young up coming trainers of the moment. :good:

Statuette has a rather lovely pedigree for the task at hand, I think.

She has Ian  beautufuly bred, Statuette looks like she would appreciate some cut which she wont get on Friday when temperatures are set to rise.

Believing only just been declared and James Doyle already booked to ride ..happy with that.

Yours is far more interesting – much bigger price for a start.

And fair point about the ground.

If statuette can keep up in the first half of the race she certainly looks as though she will relish the ascot finish

I’d be slightly concerned as to whether she will be quick enough to lie up with the quicker fillies

She looks very big and being by justify should get further than her half sister tenebrism who was by carravagio

I can’t believe she will stay that price for long Ian as long as James Doyle and herself don’t repeat what happened at Wolverhampton last time when she reared up and gave 10 lengths to the field yet still managed to win.

She was also unlucky not to win her maiden at Newmarket when 2nd to Mawj.
Mawj had the dream run on the rail while Believing was screaming out for room completely boxed in. When she finally broke through she met trouble again getting caught between two horses going nowhere.
Without all that trouble it would have been a close run finish.

Does anyone know where it’s best to be drawn in this one?

I think the Ascot draw is ground dependent.

Last season, when it was on the soft side, the middle seemed a bit of a quagmire and far side or stands side seemed better.

On quick ground, I’ve known it vary over the years between far and stands side.

Plenty of evidence of what’s favoured by Friday I should think.

So a bit of a lottery then with highest temperatures set for Friday

Thanks for that Ian and best of luck. Jac

I’ll try Queen Olly. Good luck on day 4. Wouldn’t mind a bit of the warm weather here..it’s raining…again.

I’ve plumped for Fully Wet at 11s.

Best of luck to all :good:

I was gonna leave this race out but decided to have a stab in the end.

I’ve gone for Beautiful Eyes at 33/1. Thing is, Mark Johnston is one of my bogus trainers

Well my filly Believing got as far as the stalls reared up and got herself withdrawn, not a great CV at the moment but she will win a nice race but needs to learn to settle..lost my AP bet but at least she’s ok.

Mawj ran a nice race Mike which made me think my filly would have been close had she run. Very hot day the horses are having to cope with extreme conditions.

Well done if you found the winner. :good:
