ANGELS HIDEAWAY 16/1
Was impressed by debut run and though winner of race flopped next time out this one improved to win maiden while her form not up match those top of market this race normaly go to a maiden winner though not last year.
June 21, 2018 at 13:08 #1357725Main Edition 7/1
Bolted up both starts looking very smart to my eye putting up very nice sectionals and she’s the e/w value against the Ballydoyle pair.
Very interesting that Ryan is on the Dansili filly, think most people thought he was nailed on to ride Fairyland.
June 21, 2018 at 18:33 #1357835Just looked at the race, Jesus what’s the craic with Moore not riding Fairyland….

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 21, 2018 at 18:48 #1357837Fairyland @7/2 will do for me, madness. He deserted him last time and done so again…
June 21, 2018 at 22:04 #1357852I think Ryan is on the right filly. Many of O’Brien’s best fillies need their first start badly.
Just Wonderful was in a race where the field split into two groups and she seemed to be on the wrong side as the race unfolded. She went on well from her from in behind her group and cleared away from them despite being green. The fillies on the opposite side got close to her but they seemed to be on the favoured side of the track.
It was a debut full of promise and the form has been franked. The runner up Lethal Promise dropped to 5F next time and although odds on, she dotted up by six and a half lengths.
The third filly in Just Wonderful’s race won her maiden and then went down by a short head in the Queen Mary this week. That Group 2 second is a nice bit of form to bring to the mix and Fairyland’s maiden win looks a lesser performance.
With good horses generally making good improvement from 1st to 2nd runs in general, and for O’Brien in particular, I have to side with Just Wonderful.
In Just Wonderful’s win, she was 5 and a half lengths clear of her group, which included the narrow favourite for the race. I think it’s worth checking out the replay to see for yourselves where Ryan Might be coming from in opting for her:-

The camera aspect changes annoyingly a few times but you can see Just Wonderful picking up and quickening away from those on her side, and from the 2 pole onward she puts it to bed comfortably and is probably both green and idling in front. She has a quick action and looks like she will learn to use it with better effect when more experienced.
Just Wonderful is a confident selection for me and she looks criminally underrated on 85. My notebook reads 109 potential for tomorrow and that will probably win it if she can progress as I expect.
Interesting and informative race potentially and I think Just Wonderful will win by a couple of lengths.
I’ve backed her for the 1000 Guineas at 25/1 and hope to be looking tomorrow night and seeing 8/1 as the new odds.
Albany Stakes Just Wonderful 9/4 BOG
1000 Guineas Just Wonderful 25/1
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 21, 2018 at 22:58 #1357862I did fancy Fairyland antepost for this a fortnight ago but cashed out a few days back for the same stake. I’d heard the vibes about here hadn’t been great.
So today when I saw she’d been deserted by Moore, I’ve confidently backed Just Wonderful.
9/4 is fair game. Based solely on the fact Moore has deserted her for a once raced O’Brien filly. Surely JW must be showing something decent at home.
June 22, 2018 at 14:05 #1357973Heffernan rode Fairyland to victory last time out whilst Moore did the same on Just Wonderful. Maybe the thinking is to keep the partnerships that seemed to work well intact?
Whether that’s the case or not I’ve been mightily impressed with Fairyland on both her starts and I think that now the market hasn’t deserted her that she looks worth the bet at 3/1. I’ve also backed La Pelosa e/w at 14/1 and I’ll brake even on the race if she finishes in the placings. She looked very classy indeed at Kempton (form which often translates to Ascot) and is Godolphin’s sole representative.
Fairyland 3/1
La Pelosa 14/1 (e/w – 3 places)June 22, 2018 at 14:10 #1357974I was very impressed with Just Wonderful’s debut
Haven’t bet her today but have followed Steve in on the 1000 guineasBlackbeard to conquer the World
June 22, 2018 at 14:12 #1357975Charles i think you might be right on the jockey situation.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 22, 2018 at 14:25 #1357979The two O’Brien fillies are probably rightly at the head of the market, both have very
obvious chances. The Mark Johnson filly Main Edition seems to be the main challenger in
the betting, but I think it might be worthwhile considering his second string, Octave
at 22/1. She looked quite decent and ran on well to win over 6f at Lingfield. It’s her
performance last time out that I find more interesting. She was beaten 5 lengths, but
that was by none other than Calyx. She put it up to Calyx, before Calyx taking off
in the last furlong, but take Calyx out of the field and she would have been a 6 length
winner. There isn’t a Calyx in this, although the O’Brien pair are very decent, so at
22/1 I think she’s worth an e/w gamble with 4 places available.June 22, 2018 at 14:34 #1357981That just sums up my week: 2nd & 3rd there. At least the each-wayer came off.
Well done Kev.
I certainly didn’t think the winner would come from the near group at the half way stage.
June 22, 2018 at 14:39 #1357984Floparooni from Just Wonderful. Renamed Just Chunderful after that showing.
Fairyland ran well but the other filly was beaten a long old way out and surely that’s not her form at all. She’s run like a handicapper there.
Guineas bet looks in tatters after that.
This is not my race, Alpha Centauri beaten in a close one last year and before that Cuff broke her knee when only 4th and had to be put down later.
Back to the drawing board. 2/1 and 5/2 was mighty skinny at the head of the market today. Bookies will be loving that result.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 22, 2018 at 14:48 #1357988Well done Kev and all Main Edition winners.
Value Is EverythingJune 22, 2018 at 14:51 #1357989It’s a qucik 5f on good to firm going so although clutching at straws you can’t write off Just Wonderful completely
Clemmie progressed from getting beat in this race last year to being the top 2 y/o filly so it can be done but that was not what you’d wanna seeBlackbeard to conquer the World
June 22, 2018 at 14:51 #1357990Nice one Kev, at least I had the right trainer, just the wrong horse
June 22, 2018 at 22:36 #1358084Cheers chaps.
Wouldn’t give up on Just Wonderful. She was green as on debut and this probably just came too early for her. As said above, Clemmie did similar last year before stepping forward massively.
Looked a good race beforehand, be keeping a good few of these onside.
