    Thanks for that Becky!
For Alistair Down not to apologise directly for his remarks, exposes him as rather more "graceless and petulant" than the subject of his churlish and unwarranted attack.

Roll Along? was pricing him up today; he’s got an entry for the Scottish National..is he definately going for the Whitbread? [sorry, should we start a Whitbread thread?]

I think myself and a few other people got the wool pulled over our eyes on this one. Luckily he was avery big AP price so no harm done.

When he withdrew Roll On and booked AP to ride Hennessy stupid heid here still never cottoned on

Just to explain exactly what happened after the Gold cup…….
Mr Hales was very disappointed that nipper finished 4th,but actually didnt say anything after the race…
Paul walking away and shaking his head was from a comment from Mrs Hales, Paul asked if everything was ok to which Mrs Hales said" yes except we didn’t think the pace was quick enough on the first curcuit" to which Paul butted in and didn’t allow her to finish what she was saying by putting his hand up in the air and saying" Pat don’t go there " and making a big thing about it !!!!!
If he had waited to hear the whole thing she was going to continue by saying "Denman had run a fabulous race and well done with Kauto star"

Mr Hales isn’t fortunate to find himself in the posistion he’s in he’s worked extremely hard for what he has!!!!!!

Also the main comment from Downes that really upset the whole family
the one about grey horses, there is absolutely no need to get so personal and he was totally out of order…
For those people who said it was a needle in a tea cup would you stand for somebody printing that about a member of your family…

Very vivid description there Becky. A little bit of guilt from PN perhaps or perhaps not?

I’m not saying it would have made a lot of difference where Nipper is concened but PN definately set the race up for Kauto even if it wasn’t deliberate. Obviously Denman was giving him the impression he wouldn’t get home if he went to fast and if Nipper had gone faster he most likley wouldn’t have ben able to take the sting out of Kauto’s tail anyway.

However has he ran Nipper in a fashion that would have given him his very best chance of success? Perhaps not! but in his own mind I bet he thinks he has, hence his reaction.

I think Mrs’ Hales took it better than I would have but if they haven’t made it abundantly clear to the trainer pre race it should not be an issue after the race. PN did make it clear Denman would not be running in the same fashion he did last season.

Doesn’t excuse PN’s attitude which as you explained was very assumptive.

As far as AD is concerned, I like him in some ways but once a plonker always a plonker.

Mr Hales should set you on him..I’m sure you could make it look like an accident

I’m not McCoys greatest fan. Fist, but I was closely watching which horse he rode because I think [could be wrong] he rides Sandown particularly well]. So, while I was keeping an eye on Darkness and Erics Charm he ends up on Hennessy. To be fair to Carl Llewellyn, he had been voicing concern over the ground for Roll Along for a while. Interesting to see how he does in Ireland.
