A nice looking site but they need to sort out their "Countdown to the Big Race" clock that is ticking down on the home page.

If that particular clock is right and there is (approx) 14 days and 20 hours left it means that the tapes will go up for the Grand National at around half eight in the morning on Thursday the 3rd of April….

Given last years starting fiasco, I’d take all given starting times as approximate, god knows when they’ll go off :D

If you buy a Queen Mother roof badge for Thus, do you also have to buy a badge to gain admission as at Cheltenham?

I was on the mound for the 3 days last year and the viewing is great but it just takes too long to get round to the winners enclosure as I like to welcome them back. I’m only going for Thu and/or Fri and I’m waiting to see if Kauto is going to turn up as well.

    The nightlife is fantastic though!

If you buy a QM roof badge, that’s all you’ll need. Would strongly advise it as it’s the best view in the house, as long as you can avoid the pissed-up day trippers on the top floor!

    Cheers Carvills.

I was up there on ‘access all areas’ day when Monets Garden beat Kauto and you’re right, the view was out of this world. Saw Tidal Bay, Albertas Run, Katchit, Old Benny & Naiad Du Misselot that day as well!

I was just wondering whether it was like Cheltenham where you buy a ticket for Tatts but then have to pay again to sit in the Guinness stand.

I’ll weigh things up over the next week I think.
