March 19, 2008 at 12:43 #152563A nice looking site but they need to sort out their "Countdown to the Big Race" clock that is ticking down on the home page.
If that particular clock is right and there is (approx) 14 days and 20 hours left it means that the tapes will go up for the Grand National at around half eight in the morning on Thursday the 3rd of April….
March 19, 2008 at 12:48 #152565Given last years starting fiasco, I’d take all given starting times as approximate, god knows when they’ll go off
March 19, 2008 at 13:01 #152570If you buy a Queen Mother roof badge for Thus, do you also have to buy a badge to gain admission as at Cheltenham?
I was on the mound for the 3 days last year and the viewing is great but it just takes too long to get round to the winners enclosure as I like to welcome them back. I’m only going for Thu and/or Fri and I’m waiting to see if Kauto is going to turn up as well.
The nightlife is fantastic though!
March 19, 2008 at 15:32 #152591If you buy a QM roof badge, that’s all you’ll need. Would strongly advise it as it’s the best view in the house, as long as you can avoid the pissed-up day trippers on the top floor!
March 19, 2008 at 15:40 #152593Cheers Carvills.
I was up there on ‘access all areas’ day when Monets Garden beat Kauto and you’re right, the view was out of this world. Saw Tidal Bay, Albertas Run, Katchit, Old Benny & Naiad Du Misselot that day as well!
March 19, 2008 at 19:27 #152654When my QM Roof badges came i got a wallet with Thur and Fri badges plus a entry ticket which you need for each induvidual day.
Cant wait for Aintree always a great meeting
March 20, 2008 at 00:15 #152725I was just wondering whether it was like Cheltenham where you buy a ticket for Tatts but then have to pay again to sit in the Guinness stand.
I’ll weigh things up over the next week I think.
