I was surprised to see the meeting was televised today – had to miss it as I was on a promise for lunch with me missus, its her birthday, (I will pick it up on Iplayer later in the week). I thought the BBC had said they would only televise 13 meetings this year. If they show the Welsh National meeting that makes 14 by my reckoning or have they just quietly dropped Chepstow without telling anyone. Has anybody got any information on this?
In addition, after the Ireland v All Blacks match John Inverdale did the usual round up of forthcoming sport and made no mention of the racing coverage and not for the first time. Next thing we know they be saying the viewing figures are low. No flipping wonder if we don’t know its on.

So that means the Welsh National will be televised as advertised which is good as it’s one of my favourite days of the year. Back to today I noticed the BBC are persisting with using the camera on the inside of Becher’s so I guess we will just have to get used to it.
