Pied Piper 25-1 ew is my bet here.
I think that they will go for it, and obviously playing for second if Constitution Hill turns up, but I seen the 25-1, thought that too big and just went for it.
April 2, 2023 at 11:18 #1642205I think that it might be worth waiting until the day here, in the off chance that enough take on Constitution Hill.
If there was an extra place, I would be looking at the likes of Pied Piper too, and also Knappers Hill
April 3, 2023 at 11:08 #1642311You can add me to the Pied Piper fan club here, but I think I’ll follow your lead Jeff, and wait a bit later. I will definitely bet him ew ante-post if he gets an entry
April 7, 2023 at 15:43 #1642618After my rush of blood to the head bet on Constitution Hill last year I don’t think that I’ll get to bet him ever again, as he’ll always be so skinny
Sceau Royal is one of my favourite jumpers so I have bet him 50-1 ew 3 pls
April 8, 2023 at 02:57 #1642663Some price the 50’s Kris, too big that, and see it went tonight.
I’ll have an early Antepost here with Meet and Greet. Couple of decent efforts this year, and might as well chance him while there’s three places going. A lot obviously depending on who wants to face Constitution Hill.
Sharjah a very big price too at 16’s, but I just wonder if he’s perfect for that mad handicap on the last day of Punchestown
Meet and Greet 33’s EW 3pls
April 13, 2023 at 15:13 #1643236There are 6 bookmakers by the paddock. 5 have Constitution Hill priced at either 1/9 or 1/10.
The other one is taking no chances and has the great horse chalked up at 1/20! Obviously frightened of crowds of people having their £10 on to win £1.
April 13, 2023 at 15:17 #1643244Sharjah gets better ground than he has run on all season, so I’ll try him w/o the fav.

are they pushing out the others in price ??

April 13, 2023 at 15:32 #1643257Sceau Royal does pretty well in the spring. At 50/1 I’ll back him EW or 2nd in a straight forecast.
April 13, 2023 at 15:41 #1643262WD Green
April 13, 2023 at 15:42 #1643263Thanks Wilts, ridden for second and got it.
April 13, 2023 at 15:43 #1643265I thought Constitution Hill may have been held up today. I guess the front running keeps it simple and less likely to get caught up in any trouble
Well done Green.. I loved the way the jockey gave Sharjah a pat on the neck after the race as if he’d won

April 13, 2023 at 15:46 #1643267OK, to be filed firmly under the nit picking category – when Nico started just to niggle at him halfway up the home straight, I was fully expecting him to pull readily clear of Sharjar but the distance between the two stayed pretty much the same, which did surprise me.
Looked like Sceau Royal got hit a glancing blow by part of the wing post that flew up from Epatante’s mistake at the second last…..hope he is ok.
April 13, 2023 at 15:50 #1643270I was thinking the same LD73
If going chasing the final aim would be the Gold Cup
I doubt they would substitute the Champion Hurdle for the Champion Chase and whilst he’d likely lose a bit of exuberance with age I’d be keeping him at 2m hurdles myselfGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 13, 2023 at 15:52 #1643272Comfortably his least impressive victory, but tbh I just think they wanted to keep it very simple out in front at his own pace and give him as easy a race as possible at the business end – he was nursed home, really.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 13, 2023 at 16:02 #1643276Agree ID. I got the impression De Boinville rode him with next season in mind.
April 13, 2023 at 16:03 #1643277Today wasn’t the day to win by 25 lengths. He had a pretty long season, if you look back at him starting in November. Just consider another 2-3 months of full training to bring him back from the summer break. Plus, he was stepping into unknown territory. He wasn’t as impressive as you might want him to be, but I guess they’ll know more about future (chasing) plans.
No way, he’ll go to Ireland this spring. Why would he?
