I backed Schindler’s Hunt in the Melling Chase, and if he had paid a little more attention to the fences in the straight instead of walking through them then he must surely have won that. A fine race though and just beaten by a gutsy performer in Voy Por Ustedes.

Will be chancing a little each way on Always Waining in the Topham and I like Mirage Dore in the 4.55.

Not if you had backed Schindlers Hunt :(

My feeling is that Schindler’s Hunt just didn’t want to put his head in front.

    Great race, and finish.

quote="apracing"]I can offer encouragement from the rider for Irish Raptor – during a preview on Tuesday evening, he seemed more excited about him than anything else he was booked to ride during the meeting

This is the info i love on this site well played

Bloody hell, I didnt feel too confident today but have had El Dancer won @ 14-1, Killyglen @ 7-1 and Time for rupert @ 50-1 on my lucky 63. Had time for rupert as my Next Best in the Aintree comp too. Loving it.

had 11 winners at cheltenham i find cheltenham so much easier than aintree, i find half the form doesnt mean anything at aintree its just basically picking non cheltenham winners and mostly horses that have ran poor or missed cheltenham, i know the tracks are completely different yet would think that the classier horse could be able to handle both,

big bucks and voy por ustedes only winners

backing solwhit kalahari king cape tribulation

What made you leave Ogee out?

At risk of being accused of after-timing I had both Ogee and Time For Rupert! You’ll have to believe me on the first one, and it was one of five I had in the race anyway, but I did put the Time For Rupert bet on record earlier.

The plan was to put a percentage of this season’s winnings towards our holiday fund. I suspect those two have added a few hundred air miles!

Well done Rob on Time For Rupert.

I recommended Ogee to the audience of the preview I was at on Tuesday, but that was for the 2M 4F handicap – I certainly didn’t think he was up to winning a Grade 1.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the Henderson horse that Ogee beat last month at Uttoxeter, called Acordeon – I know the stable were amazed he was beaten (so was I), but now we know why.

Well done rob, Ive been a fan of Time For Rupert since he won at 20-1 for me (in lays and plays) and thought he was mugged off by the snails pace at sandown last time and he may have ground in his favour today, only done him and captain americo in todays race, and when I saw TFR was into the 70s on the exchanges I thought "oh here we go", was listening to it with my mate on Paddy Power Radio, and although I dont know what it looked like it was some finish to listen to, and it sounded like he showed his guts.

Didnt think today would be a good day at all when looking at the cards last night, and lost a fortune to the falset going discription when really confident yesterday, so today was good. Well done with Ogee too.

I backed Ogee behind Punchestowns last year and have backed him numerous times since with varried success. Well today i decided to swerve, no i say, today isn’t his day, jesus i even said to my Dad last time he won if Henderson could get his hands on him he’d be a grade 1 winner.

Egg on and my face come to mind!! :P

I can understand people celebrating big-priced winners but I would be inclined to treat the form of both novice races with some degree of caution as there was no early pace in either race. I am sure that contributed to Weapons Amnesty’s relatively poor performance.

I’d agree with that. Think El Dancer proved today that he handles good-sft but probably needs a slow pace to see out the trip on a flat track, suspect he’ll be a hard one to win with in future, as will find life hard in the handicaps with thebrating he’ll get IMO. However the field always did have quite a weak look to it IMO, with most of them not really having everything in their favour (even the winner), Ainama would have been a good one for that race IMO. Somersby would look the one who may have most improvement about him IMO.

The 3miler looked all about speed in the last few furlongs, Weapons amensty looked to be plugging on full of running at the end there but just didnt have the speed to get involved. I’d prefer the Albert Bartlett form over that form for future reference.

I think the form of the 3 mile novice chase will work out though. Killyglen had ground conditions too fast for him @ cheltenham, so gave him abnother chance today, and he appears to have went well, and the second and third would indicate that the race was testing enough IMO.
