Maybe they can flog him round the Punchestown gold cup and get another pound off. Or perhaps Sandown– he could take in the Celebration Xhase and the Whitbread.
April 8, 2021 at 15:13 #1534977I have a horrible feeling Eddie O’Leary will see that as some sort of personal victory. What an awful image for racing.

April 8, 2021 at 15:14 #1534980On a happier note- as Mike said, lovely performance from CDO. Good to see him enjoying himself and Mister Fisher too- I’d love to know if he would have stayed well enough to make a race of it. Native River kept his “never out of the first 4 over chase fences” record.
April 8, 2021 at 15:18 #1534982Mister fisher put in a master tommytucker esque performance
Pinged fence after fence then decided to walk through one and unseat at the one after that
Frustrating as he looked to be going well and the race then completely fell apart with native river being way too slow, waiting patiently waiting too patiently and clan was being chased by a handicapper in Clondaw Castle in the end
April 8, 2021 at 15:20 #1534984I feel for Waiting Patiently, the extreme faffing around with trips he has to cope with. He isn’t Kauto Star.

April 8, 2021 at 15:25 #1534985Martin Dixon on RTV was still making excuses for Waiting Patiently. How many more chances does the horse get?
April 8, 2021 at 15:28 #1534988Be nice if connections decided on a trip CAS and gave him a chance.

April 8, 2021 at 15:32 #1534989Or, I am sorry to say, move him to a better trainer.
April 8, 2021 at 15:42 #1534997Mister Fisher will win a nice handicap or lower graded hurdle next season as he’ll surely be sent down that route. He’s a danger to himself and his jockey over fences.
CDO looks a different animal when he gets things his own way. Can’t trust him in a fight but when conditions are right…
April 8, 2021 at 16:58 #1535024CDO was one of my main bets of the week so was delighted with him , no doubt the King George will be his aim again but I can easily see him coming back here again , old Native paid his way again e.w for me , I’ll be gutted when he retires , sadly I don’t think that’s to far away , I was worried for tiger roll today , glad he,s back in one piece and no handicapper is going to be fooled by that , hopefully we won’t have to see or hear from O’Leary over the next few days , waiting patiently surely has to be aimed at the king George again , I understand the questions regarding the trainer but the fact is he,s fragile and isn’t quite fast enough for 2/2.5 but doesn’t really stay 3 …thankfully I’ve left him alone for a while
April 8, 2021 at 21:06 #1535070The Stewards held an inquiry after the race in order to find out why Tiger Roll ran so poorly. Does anyone have the press release of that?
April 8, 2021 at 21:11 #1535071Here you go RubyLight:
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of TIGER ROLL (IRE), ridden by Jack Kennedy and trained by Mrs Denise Foster, which appeared to be tenderly handled throughout to stay on to finish fourth, beaten by 92 lengths. The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. The rider stated his instructions were to make the running, but felt the gelding was never really travelling due to the fast early pace, a fact which he reported at Scales, and following a mistake at the third fence, where the gelding may have lost confidence, he was never able to hold its position. He added that he had continued to nudge and squeeze the gelding along during the final circuit and that the gelding had appeared to only stay on as the race in front of him had fallen apart. The rider further stated that he had ridden the gelding to its best advantage and in his opinion had obtained the best possible placing. The trainer was interviewed by telephone and confirmed both the instructions given and also that TIGER ROLL (IRE) may have been unsuited by the fast pace. Mrs Foster further added that today’s race may have come too soon after the recent run at Cheltenham. Their explanations were noted.
April 8, 2021 at 21:24 #1535074Thanks, Marlingford. Interesting opinions, if I may say so.
The Stewards felt he was tenderly ridden, the jockey tells them he might have lost his confidence after belting the third, but he still kept on to obtain th ebest possible position. What a joke!!!
And the trainer added that today’s race may have come too early. Can’t see how this can be good for the sport and even less for the horse itself.
April 8, 2021 at 21:25 #1535075Sort of comical what his rating will be after this, should be dropped 10lbs, but will be increased again..
April 8, 2021 at 21:49 #1535082Mrs Foster further added that today’s race may have come too soon after the recent run at Cheltenham
Righto. Just two days less of a gap than there was between him winning a soft-heavy XC and then cruising up in his second National giving chunks of weight away. Good grief, why add an extra layer of bull. The pace and the mistake was fair enough excuse- I thought he was a goner at that fence and he just didn’t look happy jumping out to the right and struggling.
April 8, 2021 at 21:51 #1535084What sort of pace were they expecting them to go in a Grade 1 chase around the Mildmay Course?
April 8, 2021 at 22:06 #153508722nd Feb, Father Jack said Tiger Roll would win Cheltenham banks and Punchestown banks and sweet FA else. He still stands by that prediction.
