Looks like Mllie Chief’s to lose judging by the current decs and taking into account that King has said it’s proabaly the best 4 year – old hurdler he’s had.
On another note, would an impressive win actually convince you into backing him for the Triumph??
February 23, 2010 at 22:39 #278724I got 14/1 months ago. While the form is not strong King is very high on this horse.
February 24, 2010 at 19:12 #278862He’s a very good horse at home it has to be said.
I don’t think he has a lot to beat at the weekend, and it would be good if he could win it nicely.
February 24, 2010 at 20:10 #278877Spoke to Max McNeill’s racing manager today and he confirmed that the horse will run, even if the ground is bad because they feel Choc Thornton will benefit from the experience!

I wish Alan King the best of luck but my own feeling are he’s doing a bit of wishful thinking…..Katchit was one of the best 4 year old hurdlers seen on raceecourse in many many years beating all thatwas put in front of him….and going on to win the CH…… Now, all of a sudden he thinks this one could be better.
His Cheltenham team aren’t the best he’s had by along way and I think he’s hoping this fellow is as good as he claims…… The horse of Nicky Hendersons he beat won yesterday but is miles down the pecking list at Seven Barrows and I don’t think Mille Chief is in the same class as Alaivan but time will tell.

Ultimate aim for Brian Ellison at Kempton
2:48pm Wednesday 24th February 2010
By Tom O’Ryan »
BRIAN Ellison will be Kempton-bound on Saturday with his highly-rated young hurdler Ultimate, who will be bidding to resume winning ways.
A wide-margin winner at Huntingdon on his debut, Ultimate has since been defeated at Cheltenham and Musselburgh, on the latter occasion chasing home Carlito Brigante.
Ellison, though, remains upbeat about Ultimate’s ability and potential. “The horse that beat him at Musselburgh could well win the Triumph Hurdle, so it was no disgrace to finish second to him,” he said. “My horse is very well and Kempton will suit him.”
While Ultimate could go to next month’s Cheltenham Festival, Ellison said: “He’s a speed horse and I may be tempted to miss Cheltenham and wait with him until Aintree, which would suit him.”
Well, as least Ultimate can be used as a measuring stick between Carlito Brigante and Mille Chief.
February 26, 2010 at 13:17 #279243Ultimate isn’t a genuine stayer over hurdles but Kempton should at least show him in his best light and Mille Chief will be able to show what he’s made of.
February 27, 2010 at 13:18 #279443Having an e/w on Taste The Wine at 18-1 as should go well if the ground is genuinely soft.
February 27, 2010 at 15:20 #279461With a reasonable clip I reckon Windpfiel could get involved in this if the ground is good and hes in decent shape at 200-1. Last bet to crown a poor days e/w betting for me.
