Too much racing.
Full stop.
November 24, 2007 at 19:35 #126700Effectively the same last year too Scotia
Lennon, Opera De Coeur (who was the most blatant non-trier you’re ever likely to see) and a rag. After a fence and with Lennon 15 lengths clear the evens myself and a few mates had taken on Lennon was looking like absolute theft

A bit of an error of judgment, Marz. David Parry is just about the most open, transparent, rod-straight owner there is, as his regular contributions to http://www.neigh.co.uk will attest to.
If you’re still reading, David, huge congratulations on your win with Delray Beach in midweek. Next stop Chepstow?

Great performance by Delray Beach midweek, especially when you take into consideration she’s only a 5YO. She’ll be very hard to beat in any marathon contest on soft ground.
neigh.co.uk is a decent site. They’re like Exotic Dancer, though – will always play second fiddle to the best – TRF!!
November 24, 2007 at 23:06 #126795In fairness to the Madman (who gets both barrels rightly or wrongly nearly every time he posts lately), Pegwell Bay originally brought up the issue of owners bemoaning the lack of opportunity – not as forcefully as MM but nonetheless!
Couple of other points:
Why is the full £70K not split between ALL finishers to reward those who stayed in.
apracing – I don’t think anyone expects to see either of yours jumping fences although it could be the making of Greenwood! He could be the next Make A Stand!

It is.
November 26, 2007 at 11:46 #127141I’m a partner in two of David Parry’s syndicates. Delray Beach and Kalmo Bay. To back up what Grayson said DP is always very open and honest with all the owners and more importantly the general public. The owners of Aces Four would have been gutted at missing the race this w.e. but the long term safety of the horse is the most important factor.
Delray does have an entry for the Welsh – but I doubt she’ll make it in even if the handicapper does hammer us for the Northumberland National win.

That much was fine, but it was the suggestion that DPRP may have pulled Aces Four out feigning injury that had to be put right.
