We’re possibly going to lose our steel industry because of Brexit. And yet he who gave us Brexit is now thought by some to be the saviour of this country #theelephantinthe room
October 8, 2025 at 19:08 #1741485Glad Kid only sees good in the right … Brexit was a Boris success , Truss economics boosted the economy , we want our rights taken away , lifting the minimum wage , why of course we shouldn’t do that , my God the boss won’t be able to buy his new Merc if we do that , if the working classes think Farage is the answer then have a look across the pond , healthcare , economy , jobs ….going down the toilet… remember Farage doesn’t want the NHS

October 8, 2025 at 19:16 #1741487Indeed, HDLG, and Labour should be making that message loud and clear to the public. Vote Reform, and your working rights will be eradicated. Say goodbye to weekends, paid leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, etc. And expect even longer queues everywhere, because the millions of immigrants who run the NHS, care sector, local shops and services will all be deported.
There was a cracking piece on how the working future might look the other day:
The fact that Starmer’s Labour aren’t drumming home these messages shows just how subservient to corporate lobbyists they have become. It’s absolutely disgusting that the party that is supposed to represent the working class is now nothing more than another lackey to the billionaires.
October 8, 2025 at 21:03 #1741494Starmer is pushing a simple statement now …. Farage boats , if Farage sticks to his immigration is the root cause of everything wrong then let’s remind everyone Brexit and the end of the Dublin agreement was to do with him ..

October 8, 2025 at 21:24 #1741495It’s the wrong message, though.
Farage has already published his rebuttal in the Express, and Labour should be pointing out to the public that both the erosion of their working rights and the asset-stripping of the NHS will have a far more deleterious effect on them than a small number of people arriving in the country illegally.
It’s an open goal, yet Starmer won’t go for it.
October 9, 2025 at 05:25 #1741504There s 3 years to hit the goal Glad , Farage is going to come a clanger in that time , let’s look what each has achieved in life …

This is where you get Reform. Forget taking them on about their single issue of immigration. That will never be solved to their satisfaction. Show them up for their fake patriotism, fake support of the common man and dreadful handling of the councils they now run.
October 10, 2025 at 08:14 #1741536Own goal badenoch not to mention Reform during her speech , akin to the lookout on the Titanic not mentioning the iceberg …

October 10, 2025 at 12:39 #1741556I was wondering how long before Brexit was raised again.
Mervyn King was the best Governor of the BoE in recent years a proper knowledgeable economist who has more intellect in his little finger than Reeves will ever have and he didn’t need to fiddle his history.
When the ‘remain/rejoin/remoaners’ published reports of how the economy would be effected his comment was simply
‘They can’t possibly know that …. they are making it up’
Words which I agree with.
The way the bond markets view the current government has nothing to do with not being in the EU but everything to do with it’s handling of the economy.
good luck to allOctober 10, 2025 at 12:46 #1741558Lol Kid your saying brexit was a success then …. he was right he couldn’t have known then …we know now though don’t we , in your statement you’ve actually destroyed your own attempted argument ….

October 11, 2025 at 11:31 #1741710HDLG …. what happened to the mass unemployment, the recession etc etc they forecast ….never happened.
From Dan Hodges column Oct 5 (on recognition of Palestine)
The domestic political imperatives confronting the PM have changed.Back then he judged it in his party’s interest to stand by Israel. Now he has calculated Israel needs to be cast adrift.Regardless of the impact on the Jewish community. That community should rightly not be held accountable for the actions of the Israeli government. But as we saw last week, that is not a distinction currently being drawn by those Islamist extremists who want to ‘Free Gaza’ by butchering Jews.
And yet Keir Starmer and his colleagues still refuse to take a stand. At the Labour conference,Sir Keir and his ministers rose in righteous unison to condemn the extremism of the far right.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood specifically singled out supporters of Tommy Robinson who had marched through London ,branding them ‘heirs to the skinheads and P***-bashers of old’.And while she conceded ‘not everyone chanted racist slogans’, the fact some did make it clear ‘that in their view of this country I have no place’.
On Thursday evening, as Jews started to mourn their dead, the racists again took to the streets, this time under pro-Palestinian banners. They chanted for the death of Jews, and the eradication of Israel as a Jewish state.
The reaction to this orgy of hate from Starmer and his ministers? Mealy mouthed appeasement.’just take a step back’,Mahmood pleaded.’Sometimes some love and friendship to other people is required’
Intimidate and threaten any other minority group and, Keir Starmer’s Labour will brand you a P***-basher.But intimidate and threaten Jews , and you will receive saccharine homilies about friendship and love.
(on genocide in Gaza) Hodges continues (ref to David Lammy being asked if this was the case)
Three weeks ago he slipped out a response.’The Government has not concluded that Israel is acting with that intent’ he said.
This issue goes to the very heart of the toxic debate raging over Israel’s response to the Oct 7 atrocities. So did Keir Starmer make a statement to Parliament confirming his Government’s assessment? Did he make a major address? Did he write a prominent newspaper article? Did he reference it all in last week’s conference speech?
No he stayed silent. The formal conclusion of His Majesty’s Government that Israel’s not, as it’s critic’s claim, prosecuting genocide has been effectively buried by the British PM.And why? …..
continues ….
to a Jewish community that is literally fighting for it’s life, it’s not what his pro-Palestinian activists want to hear.So Britain’s Jews are deemed expendable.
good luck to allOctober 11, 2025 at 11:37 #1741713No ones expandable Kid , if Genocide has taken place that’s not at the uk,s door alone is it , sounds as if your head Brexit has been a success , if you really think that then you’ve lost the plot

October 11, 2025 at 12:43 #1741731Typical drivel from Kid. Who said that “Britain’s Jews are deemed expendable”?
Nobody.
October 11, 2025 at 16:15 #1741798Anyone else getting sick of politics being everywhere now? I’ve been watching the darts this week and most evenings there’s been anti Starmer chanting. Give it a ****ing rest, I watch sport to get away from all that for a while. No doubt many of the same people who say that politics should be kept out of sport when there are anti discrimination campaigns.
October 14, 2025 at 12:22 #1742010October 14, 2025 at 13:33 #1742011The water industry in particular is an absolutely obscene example. The way it runs and fleeces the public is an absolute scandal, all whilst dumping literal sewage in our waterways.
It’s all absolutely ridiculous though, there’s no such thing as energy companies really, they’re just billing companies. It all comes from the same place, it’s not like my company knows when I fire up the oven and makes sure I’ve got enough power to do so. Absolutely pointless bureaucracy.
