Jonathan Powell was appointed special envoy in early Sept a month later Lammy was announcing the surrender to claims which had no merit in law or otherwise.
Talk about a rushed job!
Yes discussions did take place under the last government but were halted not conceding anything.
good luck to allps just read on news app he now wants a ‘more relaxed’ attitude to terrorists,is this guy for real?
November 9, 2024 at 23:31 #1712322Kid have you read Johnsons thoughts on Trump …. The conservatives are also no longer using the word ” Tory” , they believe it’s associated with sleaze …. I’m sorry but if they believe that’s going to fix all there issues then they really haven’t learned a thing ….
November 10, 2024 at 00:20 #1712324Starmer’s Labour doesnt understand business or basic economics.
Disaster pending, folks.November 10, 2024 at 07:24 #1712339And Truss and Kwarteng did. Disaster already happened which now Labour have to try and fix. Admittedly not the best government to do this.
November 10, 2024 at 09:14 #1712344What should they be doing Wilts ? , if there’s a huge black hole to fill how else do you fill it bar raising taxes ? , you say a disaster is coming , this isn’t backed up by the markets or Bank of England , sim could not be said about the Truss budget , we can’t live for free , ageing population , many obese or drinking/druging to much so we have budget for this , or perhaps you believe like the right that we should cut taxes …like Truss
November 10, 2024 at 11:37 #1712356A little something for people to chew over.
The top 1% of taxpayers pay 29% of income tax,the top 10% of taxpayers pay 61% of income tax.
If these people leave then you will have a ‘black hole’ scary isn’t it?
good luck to allNovember 10, 2024 at 19:07 #1712395Ah kid , so we have to kneel down to the elite and let them dictate how the country is governed …. We,ve had 14 years of this , it didn’t work , if they want to leave then leave , opportunities for others to fill the gaps they leave , if you don’t want us at our worst then you don’t deserve us at our best…
November 12, 2024 at 17:04 #1712512Relative to the budget and inheritance tax for farming, does this represent the Labour mindset?
John McTernan- Former Labour Advisor.
“Farming is an industry we can do without”.I’m just curious to know, if there is no farming, then where does the food come from and what happens to the land?
Import it all?
Without traditional farmers, the big corporations will take over completely and I think we can guess the rest.November 12, 2024 at 20:28 #1712516“Former”
Key word.
November 13, 2024 at 00:20 #1712523Noted Glad, but I’ll also note the recent budget changes to inheritance tax.
In general, farmers are not cash rich and many carry substantial overdrafts to continue in business.
What is to be achieved by cutting off the hand that literally feeds you?
November 13, 2024 at 05:57 #1712527If the farm is a limited business then if parents/child are noted as directors then the business would continue even in death , no inheritance tax to pay
November 13, 2024 at 09:02 #1712534It is a lot more complicated than just forming a limited company:
