It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 9, 2022 at 12:34 #1577243Kind of you to say so Ian and the posting was more an afterthought as I challenged the mighty night clock. The thread itself is a bold warm statement. The hard nuts wont come in here understandably – but that aint a bad thing and is their perogative, and being hewn from the same granite I fully understand why !
I am actually sat here still in my underpants and thermal vest. The sun beats down on my naked legs through a huge window and of course a big expansive clear sky to enjoy with my third tea. It beats any five star box room in Melbourne. I dont think I have moved since I got up apart from lifting the kettle – too lazy to even brush the old gnashers and as the song goes too lazy for my shirt. I will correct that before I wander through lush green grasses to an appointed coffee house in an hour. A Royal park detour beckons and, I have a date with the other half who is busying herself in a place of active worship. I have been told to smarten up and wear a respectable pair of trousers of the Sunday kind and more specifically transform myself into a normal.

A challenge for even the most talented tailor, surely?
I would never insult you, gamble, with a label so utterly banal as “normal.”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 9, 2022 at 15:30 #1577262I’ll remember that phrase ‘transform myself into a normal’ on the rare occasions when I change out of my pyjamas these days. And that’s only when I walk the dog and even that isn’t happening at the moment because we both hibernate throughout January.
January 9, 2022 at 16:26 #1577265Well Ian – I am just back indoors, and sitting quietly and contentedly alone for a couple of hours before helter-skelter. I would say I am more than normal with my 52 coming year pleasures all nicely stacked, sealed and a…waiting in a fine wood biscuit barrel with a vacuum effect lid.
Moe I always did wonder at the delightfully satin texture but equally relaxed style of your unique postings, which I have at times tried to emulate. If only I had worked out the secret ingredient – jimjams, and thank you for the secret and I will forevermore picture you as a finely textured creature of the night.
I popped into Tesco on my way back and bought a small jar of bramley apple sauce (64p) as I am porking it tonight, and passed by a stack of brightly coloured newspapers to spot that David Attenborough advises we are all just like plants.
I believe I may then have descended from a long but fruitful line of dandelions, and I am now able to blame all of my postings, squarely on the mighty shape-shifting shoulders of the Great West Wind.
January 11, 2022 at 11:19 #1577482“I would say I am more than normal” – no argument there, especially the “more than” bit.
