I’m 20 minutes away in Swindon and we’ve barely had a drop in the last 24 hours. Unlucky Newbury, never mind.

I notice that the last at Newbury (a mile and a quarter handicap) has gone from twenty runners to seven. Although it’s hardly a high-profile race, the bookies must still be happy in having place terms reduced from first four to first two only.

44 from 93 declared as Non-runners at present. Cannot blame the trainers though if 3 inch of rain overnight.

I had my first bets for Newbury yesterday tea time expecting no more than good-soft. Then, stopped and waited to hear what it was this morning. I live around 40 mins SW from Newbury, pelted down middle of the night. Was going today, but had to revisit my homework. Relieved Certificate has come out.

Frustrating, just one of those things.

My bets were washed away with the rain and the clash between Dabyah and Wuheida today is off with the Godolphin filly out.

I am not bothering with the meeting today or tomorrow now, which is a shame.

Aye, I’d be up for that. I usually would be busy with playing Saturday league football but I’ve knocked that on the head now and will be planning on getting out to a meeting at least once a month if I can.
