Way back Del posted selections for the 5/4 system and also talked of the Top 4 system.

5/4 certainly hit the spot with members of the day but as far as I can see the rules (selection method) are not posted.

If anyone has the knowledge would they kindly pass them on.

    Del,

    Passed away some time ago.

The rules – if I remember correctly are as follows:-

    Top rated by Topspeed
    Top rated by Postmark
    Top rated by Adrian Massey
    No X’s in Postdata

Also, selection must be top rated in Lawrence Taylor ratings. I, believe the Lawrence Taylor ratings no longer exist.

    Regards – Matron

    ,

I am always sorry to read sad news but thank you for your post.

With Postdata not on general release etc. I look to have drawn a blank with this one but I shall continue to work my way through the archives.

A hybrid from the available ratings has tossed up an interesting afternoon selection and the Billion "pound" is down.

Brighton 3.00 PLUS ULTRA 9/4 ToteSport

    LOST

    Ratings used: –

    RPR – TopSpeed – TimeForm – L. Taylor – A Massey

All are either top rated or joint top.

Lawrence Taylor’s speed ratings are available at ATR.

MAYSON 2.15 Hamilton also scored but at 2/11 I was not that interested.

    WON 1/7

WOTASHIRTFULL 2.45 Hamilton is a close run next best choice at 5/2

    LOST

It is always worth giving something new a little bit of a run despite the ignominious start.

Others to think about which have all the ticks in the boxes except A. Massey (evening race ratings not available)

On a slightly different tact but taking the figures etc. available from SUN & MAIL as an alternative because of missing Massey: –

    WON 11/10

    2.30 Catterick ORCHID STREET available 7/4 . . .

    WON 7/4

I have not got much of a feeling about the original system and certainly involves a lot of fiddling around the different sites.

But with 2 from 3 yesterday from the Mail/Sun hybrid I am encouraged to post for another day and see what happens.

    Perth 2.20 Beidh Tine Anseo 5/4 . . .

    LOST

    *Yarmouth 2.10 The Paddyman

    WON 1/2

    Yarmouth 2.40 Artic Rose 1/1 . . . . .

    LOST

    Haydock 2.30 Madany 13/8 . . . . . . .

    WON 8/11

    Redcar 6.10 Abbandanza 1/1 . . . . . .

    LOST

    *Epsom 6.50 Whodathought

    WON 2/5

All early prices available from Odds Checker

I experimented yesterday with 2 o/o selections from both methods and * again today to boost returns with a double.

The short priced double just kept my nose in front yesterday but the overall profit was miniscule.

There is a certain something about this hybrid of 5/4 system which is keeping my interest, maybe it is the 4.4 point profit from the two winning doubles (it does help).

    4 selections today: –

    Sandown 3.25 INTROVERT 9/4 . . . . .

    LOST

    Doncaster 4.45 ERTIKAAN 4/7. . . . . .

    WON 4/6

    Warwick 4.55 DANE COTTAGE 1/1. .

    WON 6/5

    Haydock 7.45 DOLLY PARTON 11/8 . .

    WON 8/11

Today there is no obvious (odds on) double but am experimenting with Singles/doubles/trebles. 8)

    Hi Billion,
If you go to the racing post betting site.

    http://thebettingsite.racingpost.co.uk/

and click on NEWSPAPER SELECTIONS, you will get postdata, topspeed etc ratings picks, as well as the newspaper selections. It might save you having to buy more than one paper
