The winner was disqualified for the rider weighing in 4lbs light.

The horse clearly had to be disqualified and no problem with the trainer being fined. However, why should David Nolan get a three day ban?

What happened was clearly an accident. No trace of the missing lead weight was found anywhere. The whole thing is a bit of a mystery.

Nolan does not appear to have done anything wrong but is going to miss out on three days of riding fees and prize money. Does the punishment fit the crime?

I think he is entitled to feel a bit aggrieved, especially when you look at the last race at Navan yesterday where plenty of jockeys made little or no effort and received no punishment at all.

Does seem harsh as no advantage was gained anyway.

I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highways
