Fists, on another read, you stated how important it was to see horses racing before reaching an opinion on their ability but above you dismiss Osana without ever having seen him run.
That seems something of a contradiction to me!

Colin
I admit that Colin and it’s been bugging me like hell I can assure you. I had no choice but take his form on paper and try and analyze it.
He was stiffed by Blythe Knight, Stuffed by Sizing Europe and beat a field of horses including an unfit katchit IMO and a big fat hairy moster call Sublimity who was heavily disguised as a race horse. I think he could be overrtated and the name Pipe has alot to do with his price……Jackane/TC did put the race up on u-tube but it cuts out before the race starts.
Would appreciate anyone who has a copy sticking it up
Cheers
February 22, 2008 at 08:47 #145421Didn’t Brave Inca and Hardy Eustace both win their novice hurdles and go on to win the Champion Hurdle? Horses react to races differently not just the race itself but the whole travelling to the course, being housed there and atmosphere on the day. That said Cheltenham is not the be all and end all some people make it out to be, there are plenty of very good horses who never win at the festival and some who are just not suited to Cheltenham full stop.
I’ve said before that Cheltenham is a strength of NH Racing, but also a weakness. We know were every horse is aimed, and because of this a horse will be seemingly trained for 1 race only, at the expense of other races. These races, often Gd1 are used a prep races – is this right??
Why should it be held against a horse if it doesn’t like Cheltenham – a horse stuffs everything everywere but Cheltenham, therefore at the end of the season it isn’t classed a Champion. I’ve never got my head round this… - AuthorPosts
