May 26, 2019 at 09:41 #1441659At Chester yesterday, Mark Johnston’s 2yo Raffle Prize which I consider to be the best 2yo performace so far this season, earning a speed figure of 63, if you haven’t watched a video of the race do so.

May 27, 2019 at 07:18 #1441871Impressive Curragh 8L 2yo winner, Arizona shoots to the top of my speed figures
RP
ARIZONA took the anticipated step forward from his debut over course and distance. Ridden positively, Ryan Moore had no problem sending him on at halfway and you would have to love the way he hit the line. The Chesham was mentioned as a possible target afterwards and an extra furlong would be right up his street. Should the Coventry become his aim, for which he is a 10-1 shot with Boylesports, he would have a massive chance too. This was impressive and you could argue it was the best display we have seen by a 2yo in any maiden this season.01:50 Curragh (IRE) 26-May-19 Arizona A P O’Brien Ryan Moore 69

May 29, 2019 at 19:10 #1443530An under the radar one in Nasaiym. Came second a couple of weeks ago at Thirsk and no shock to see her running with credit in Group races this season.
June 5, 2019 at 07:47 #1444658Sunday Sovereign’s 7L romp at Tiperary yesterday puts this colt at the top of the fastest 2yo’s seen out so far this season earning a speed figure from me of 68.
I could have marked the speed figure earned by this colt even higher, the problem I faced was, the official race distances have too be taken with a big pinch of salt.RP:
SUNDAY SOVEREIGN, an impressive winner of a 6f maiden at the Curragh last time, he had no trouble dropping back to the minimum trip and made light work of the opposition, making all and going futher and further clear inside the final furlong. He has plenty of options, but the Norfolk at Royal Ascot appears the be the main aim, according to his trainer.01:50 Curragh (IRE) 26-May-19 Arizona 69

June 5, 2019 at 11:31 #1444669I always find your figures interesting Blues Brother, keep up the good work.
June 5, 2019 at 11:34 #1444670It’s a shade early in the season for me, but I’m very hopeful that Well Of Wisdom can develop into a smart one.
They’re maybe not going to be top drawer, but I’m hopeful that Iffraaz and Glasvegas run well at the weekend, though no sign of them being confirmed yet for Beverley.
June 6, 2019 at 11:14 #1444701Godolphin have some nice 2yos as always, finding it hard to be sure which will go where. I liked Final Song a lot on debut, but the ground was softer than it’ll probably be at Ascot + SDS is the trainer….Has anyone any views which of theirs is there best?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 6, 2019 at 11:25 #14447026:30 Ripon:
It was a major WTF moment when I was looked at the 2yo race at RIpon last night, the time Spartan Fighter and the runner up A’Ali acheived was just not possible on the official good to soft going description, I made it good to firm.
It’s the runner up A’Ali that has got be excited, so much so, his speed figure of 65 put’s him right up there with the best seen out so far, with this race under his belt, it is going to take a good one to beat him.
Mike.

June 7, 2019 at 23:22 #1444792A little strange to see Oh Purple Reign dropping in distance tomorrow at Beverley.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 16, 2019 at 12:24 #1445494Delta Dawn looks like an interesting newcomer today on pedigree, although you could probably say the same for a handful of them.
I’m sure that The Coventry will be informative. In that race I’m particularly interested in seeing Royal Lytham + Light Angel
