Any views on recent AW Winners HEADMAN and Dubai Warrior and prospects for next year
November 12, 2018 at 15:47 #1380378I’m a bit sceptical about Dubai Warrior‘s prospects due to his full brother – Mootasadir being a complete AW specialist. 0-2 on turf yet he’s 4-4 on artificial surfaces. Whether he can replicate anything close to that debut effort on turf is definitely a valid question. Dam herself wasn’t quite so dependent on AW but was still a 5-10lb better horse away from grass. There must also be a temptation to sell to the American market after that.
November 12, 2018 at 19:09 #1380398Something about Roger Charlton (who i think is a gent btw) that doesn’t sit well with me carrying a 2yo forward very consistently to be a top 3yo..Perhaps it’s just recency bias but he’s done it quite a bit recently. Aside from that, Kingman is producing some very good horses, and he looked very good.
Its early days with the stride data, but for point of comparison, he was measured at 25.68ft as stride length and 2.22 strides per second. Too Darn Hot at Donny was 24.7ft and 2.4 sps….indicating that Headman could make up into a horse that could go further in trip…

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!November 22, 2018 at 16:16 #1386676Zakouski looked a fair rocket last night at Kempton, beating the well regarded odds on Kingman hoss Headman.
November 23, 2018 at 11:09 #1386720i see Zakouski 33s in some places for the 2000. Not saying for one minute he is up to that but i like Kev was most impressed. Even getting seven from the winner he looked a decent animal
November 23, 2018 at 15:43 #1386755Agree on that guys
And some intresting novices races tonight as well Gosden has 2 in each race look good on paper
November 25, 2018 at 11:43 #1387092See RED IMPRESSION won again for Roger Charlton broke 2yo record at Lingfield as well not a classic horse for me but looks a potential top class sprinter.
April 16, 2019 at 22:35 #1417845Hi Darren
Back from 1st day at Newmarket and more than pleased to see Qabala take the Nell Gwyn with Mot Juste an interesting 2nd both for Roger Varian.I highlighted them on here last year and nice to see they have both wintered well Qabala installed as 6/1 1000 Guineas favourite

Hoping to spot a few more dark horses this season at HQ.
JacHope you continue this Thread for 2019 and we can get down to finding some Classic winners.
