My heart would love to see Harry annihilate them but I couldn’t trust him at 5/4. My head says to take him on. Have played Speak in Colours at 25’s (mentioned earlier in the thread), whose now aprox half that price, I guess due to the now heavy ground, have also had an each way play on Sir Dancealot at 12’s.
SD has continued to improve since having his knackers off and although he might be slightly better over 7f he’s run some decent races over 6f this season, I don’t think he’ll mind the ground and I reckon he’ll be in the mix for a place at least, possibly or better if Harry implodes.
Good luck all.
September 8, 2018 at 10:36 #1372262A couple each way for me. The Tin Man (12/1) and Gustav Klimt (22/1).
September 8, 2018 at 12:39 #1372277Tasleet for me
September 8, 2018 at 13:51 #1372288I quite like the look of Speak In Colours at 12/1. I don’t think the
going should inconvenience him, he was just pegged on the line on heavy ground 1st time
out, and followed it up next time out with a win on soft at Ascot. More recently he has
come back to decent form at the Curragh with a decent win, in front of Gordon Lord Byron.
I give him a shout at those odds. Well done pants for getting the 25s earlier
September 8, 2018 at 16:12 #1372546taken a chanve on the ground with Sir Dancealot and The Tin Man both each way.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 8, 2018 at 16:15 #1372549I’m a few quid up today so going for Harry Angel at 6/4

September 8, 2018 at 16:40 #1372569Mmmmmmmmmm I think the race fell apart somewhat and I am sure someone will let us know about sectionals but they seemed to go too quick IMO. Hey Jonesy probably done the fav!!

Easy to take too much notice of what pessimistic trainers say, when form tells another story.
For all hadn’t run on heavy before: If going back to his 1 3/4 lengths second to Quiet Reflection in the 2016 renewal; that was on very soft ground… If it wasn’t for being slowly away that day would’ve run right up to his best.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 8, 2018 at 16:51 #1372574You’re spot on Raymo, they went too quick. But Kirby didn’t need to keep up with HJ, could’ve either held on to HA or moved away from the other pace setter to not go as fast. Horse gas always had frailties when taken on up front and with Hey Jonesey, Donjuan Triumphant and James Garfield in the field that was always highly likely. Equally horse and jockey error imo.
Those prominent fell away whilst held up horses came through late.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 8, 2018 at 17:38 #1372583I’d be surprised if Sir D runs over less than 7f again.
September 8, 2018 at 18:47 #1372593Excellent shout Charles Olney
September 8, 2018 at 21:18 #1372831Well done Charles and Ginger.
Harry Angel shows just what a task it is for trainer/jock to get everything right. Huge talent not matched by temperament. He’ll continue to go off short as excuses will be made, but he’s becoming a very risky betting prospect.
September 8, 2018 at 22:13 #1372914Gustav Klimt ran on well, ironically looking like 7F would have suited better today. He’s a frustrating horse for sure.
Sir Dancealot just never turned up today, he seemed devoid of any pace and a supplement for the Melbourne Cup might not be a bad shout on today’s showing.
The Tin Man and I have never formed a bond. When I back him he can’t get it done but free of my money he has a superb record.
Harry Angel came home like a champ last season but like a pure chump this time “Muck and nettles” horse as Sid Waddell used to say at the darts.
Well done to the Tin Men, he TOTOly deserved that one.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 8, 2018 at 22:35 #1372916Weird race I thought. Harry seemed too fresh and went too quick, looked to tire last 2F on what looked pretty deep ground.
Tin Man is a brilliant hoss, pretty consistent & he has to go close again at Ascot.
September 9, 2018 at 13:38 #1373308Cracking horse The Tin Man, and he deserved that after Ascot.
Well done Charles and GT
