Very strong looking entry at the moment, and although a few of these won’t make it, it’s normally a strong enough line up, and won by some decent sorts in the past.

It’ll be a race to enjoy for me, rather than betting in, with most of my interest, at this time anyway drawn to the Elliot pair of Shattered Love, and The Storyteller.
Shattered Love won a lot easier than it looked in The JLT, and almost certain to be aimed at The Ryanair, or The Gold Cup next term. She should be hard to beat, but love to see how The Storyteller will get on. 100% Convinced that he’s worth trying in this, and future Graded Chases, but just a slight suspicion that he might have a big handicap in his sights, considering how he’s been campaigned to date.
You can take your pick from the Mullins Camp, and I really think Kemboy could be interesting, this looks perfect for him, while it would be great to see Invitation Only bounce back here. I’d just be happy to see Invitation Only go here, rather than The Irish National, as he was my season long fancy for it, but ended up going with others.
Always wanted to see Petit Mouchoir see a trip over fences, and at the start of last season, I wanted him to go for The National Hunt Chase. I think he could be a Gold Cup horse, and this should tell us more.
Happy to sit this one out, and I’d be more than happy if half of these made it, as not a bad horse in the line up at the moment.
March 28, 2018 at 11:39 #1348299Personally, i would like to take on both SL and Petit Mouchoir at the prices…i narrowed down the race to 10. 6 from wpm, 3 from GE and 1 from henry…
Obviously that will cut up in time, i am surprised elliot is running SL back so soon and over the trip again, but its all for the championship…
Of the Mullins contingent, i would be happy to chance any of Kemboy, Invitation Only or ABP.
However the issue lies with what is going to run! I am guessing but Invitation Only might go? I am almost sure Kemboy goes at this stage…
Kemboy at 12s could be interesting in tht, i dont think he was ridden to suit last time, and he could improve for being ridden more prominent. However, he has a good few lengths to claw back on SL.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 28, 2018 at 17:13 #1348333Yeah Jack, no appeal Ante-Post at all here, though fun to my head it would be that 12’s on Kemboy.
March 30, 2018 at 13:28 #1348485Nine stand their ground, all from the Elliot & Mullins yard. That’s a discussion for another day.
Anyway, another Ante-Post bullet dodged, as Kemboy doesn’t go. I’ll probably throw something in a perm, but almost certainly no Single here. The most interesting runner is definitely The Storyteller, and how he runs here will probably tell us the plans for him next season.
March 31, 2018 at 19:54 #1348708Took the 5/1 for Al Boum Photo, his form with Monalee is pretty good. Shattered Love was impressive in the JLT, but I think the RSA was a much better race and at 11/8 is too short.
April 1, 2018 at 00:00 #1348721Up For Review is probably still too green for this especially compared with the others, but I like him and believe he has plenty of scope for improvement. Last run very educational. Put my pound on each way at 14s.
April 1, 2018 at 00:04 #1348723Very interesting horse for next season Grass.
April 1, 2018 at 00:17 #1348725Yes… RSA and 4miler entries didn’t go unnoticed this year. And he wasn’t to shoddy over hurdles.
April 1, 2018 at 00:24 #1348728Absolutely, and I should add that I wouldn’t be writing him off tomorrow either.
Really is a decent looking race, and I’m more than happy to sit it out, though if having a bet, Up For Review would be a serious each way shout.
I’ll pass though, and I’m just hoping to see further improvement from The Storyteller, and I really do think he’s a Ryanair/Gold Cup candidate for next year.
April 1, 2018 at 14:14 #1348764Am on AL BOUM PHOTO here at 11/2 e/w.
I think they ran it in the wrong race at Cheltenham and should have run it in the JLT cos IMO two and a half is its best trip.
But then again who am I to tell WM what its trip is!! LOL
April 1, 2018 at 14:20 #1348766I think that most of us are of the opinion that Shattered Love is going to take an awful lot of beating here. Of the opponents Invitation Only looks like being the only rival who could upset her being that he was pulled up before having a hard race at Cheltenham.
Reverse forecast: Shattered Love & Invitation Only.
April 1, 2018 at 15:35 #1348772I have to side with Al Boum Photo here, I think this is the perfect race for him.
April 1, 2018 at 15:36 #1348773Oops…..wrong race
April 1, 2018 at 15:43 #1348777Alboum photo took all the 2m5 to get in contention in the flogas. Soft ground but I’m not sure if the 2m4 will give him enough time to pick up after he momentarily gets outpaced.
April 1, 2018 at 15:46 #1348778Having seen the Cheltenham runners disappoint in the Novice hurdle it could pay to opt for a horse who hasn’t had a hard race within the last 20 days. Saturnas fits that bill having had a 77-day break. He could well improve (he’ll need to, mind) for the step up in trip. He is 16/1 and all his rivals have run within the last 22 days.
April 1, 2018 at 16:38 #1348785Another quality ride from David Mullins. He really should be eying taking over the top job in the not-too-distant future.
April 1, 2018 at 16:38 #1348786WD DBR, Raymo and Autumnal. Good finish. My chap lobbed along in a nice rhythm but just couldn’t quicken with them.
