One of my favourite races of the week, and have one of my better records in it.
Already bet a couple.
Mall Dini – Bet him at 33’s a while back. Discussed him a lot last year, and just a little surprised he didn’t quite deliver. He could go anywhere, but happy with those odds, even if he does have to improve, just a tad. Not as big a bet as Squouateur, and just bet him to cover the stakes, plus a small profit, as a race where I have an amount set aside.
Squouateur – Would have won this out the park last year, but jumping issues kicked in, and he got rid of Jamie Codd three out. Got on fairly early, and he’s one of my bigger bets of the week at the 20’s. Last run was terrible though, after his textbook run in The Paddy Power, and looking for Phil Smith just to give him a pound or two extra.
Others on the shortlist
Aubusson
Barney Dwan
Bigbadjohn
Cogry
General Principle
Jetstream Jack
Sutton ManorAnother race where I’ll have a few quid on, and certainly happy with the prices nabbed so far, though Squouateur certainly the bigger of the two. I’ll have a good go on a second (and maybe third) string as well.
I’ll hopefully give this race a proper run down nearer the time, but with so many multiple entries, little point just now.

Mall Dini 33’sMarch 13, 2018 at 07:35 #1346098I’ve had a bit on Aubusson at 33s EW. Should stay, cope with ground, low weight, plenty of experience and fences mark below hurdles mark. Jockey not as experienced as some but takes 5lb off.
March 15, 2018 at 08:23 #1346640If Sugar Baron is given an a-star ride he should go very close indeed and at 12/1 I’m willing to find out. At the prices Braqueur D’or makes e/w appeal at 25/1 and so does Very First Time at 33s.
March 15, 2018 at 09:13 #1346653I felt Mall Dini looked a more reliable Festival proposition than Squouateur so plumped for the former. I looked and looked at Aubusson, jockey is very promising, but couldn’t bring myself to back it E/W. Not totally convinced he will see it out and, whilst back in reasonable form, is essentially not as good as was.
March 15, 2018 at 17:07 #1346798One of my favourite races of the week, and as well as my two Ante-Post, I’ve got a small each way on Aubusson, that’s a saver, but as per, went with my old pal Double Ross. Went with him 50’s each way, and a fair old price on the exchange.

March 15, 2018 at 17:18 #1346805I’ve got Pendra. 2nd last year when clearly the best horse in the race, gets in off the same mark and Katie Walsh booked.
March 15, 2018 at 17:40 #1346807I guess this solves my day
March 15, 2018 at 17:42 #1346808WD Viktor, great tipping.
And good EW prices with the 2-3-4 VtC
March 15, 2018 at 17:45 #1346809yeah VtC, those are 3 cracking prices you get. Actinpieces also was placed in many bookies at big odds if anyone was on her. Such a lovely mare.
March 15, 2018 at 18:07 #1346812Thanks Viktors and Grass.
Viktors, this is through gritted teeth lol, well played with the winner.
March 15, 2018 at 18:10 #1346814Well done, Viktors. I didn’t back it but I will when it wins the Grand National :)
March 15, 2018 at 18:32 #1346818Nice one Viktors, and I knew you would have a few quid on Double Ross Bobby.
Great stuff both of you
March 15, 2018 at 18:42 #1346820Cheers Graham
