Hardly a mention for mine (bai des ilses + raz de maree) but great to see Tiger Roll win; what an amzing little horse. The season after he won the Triumph, it seemed he hadn’t trained on, v ordinary form, repeatedly outclassed. Then didn’t look anything special over fences, without much obvious scope for improvemnet, till out of the blue (to me anyway) won the Munster National at Limerick. And since then he had been formidable

Bobby, you are indeed the man, incredible early call.

That National Preview of yours, well you’ll have to frame it. Well done mate.

No aftertiming! The earliest I’ve ever bet a horse antepost. What a horse, what a jockey, what a trainer.

So don't run, just like the others always do

You sang his praises for long enough Bobby, but what a scare right at the death. I
doubt you’ll have a voice left to sing his praises tonight….enjoy it :yahoo:

Not sure who else had him, I think Botchy was in his fan club, well done mate :good:

I thought Seeyouatmidnight was looking in with a shout, but he just didn’t get home.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for me ……

” It’s probably money down the drain, but it’s just incredible to think of the Road To Riches
of 2 years ago, running off 142. Maybe he’s gone at the game, but if the Aintree fences can ignite
something in him he would be so well in. He’ll probably get pulled up, but at 66s I can’t resist having
    a few quid on.”

He saved my bacon and at least I wasn’t out of pocket. The best news of all is that all horses
are heading home safe. That makes it a great National :good:

Very well done, Bobby a great result for you.

I was frightened for Houby when i saw the screens after Bechers, but so relieved he just ran on after them until after the water. Watching it again he’d have been brought down himself had he not gone anyway, so it just wasn’t to be. Here’s hoping he has one last go next year!

    Total Recall 7/1?

I tried my best, you can’t tell some people. Lemmings.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Yes, well done Bobby and other Tiger Roll backers.

Time was about 10 seconds slower than 2016, the pace was distinctly average. Still not convinced the going was as bad as in 16, perhaps Soft with Heavy places. Will have to see what Mike and Topspeed make of it. RPRs will be interesting, difficult to get a handle on. Think it was a below par renewal and time so my initial stab at RPRs: Tiger Roll 158, Pleasant Company and Anibale Fly 156 (a stone below GC run), Bless The Wings 140.

Milansbar might be worth marking up as the only prominent runner still involved late on

Well done VTC – absolutely superb.

Annibale Fly did me proud. Travelled beautifully throughout. He placed so my 532/1 each way double with Reed at least made a nice profit.

    Well done Tiger Roll

Yes, Joe, I’ll look at marking up when I’m clearer about the base figures. Tiger Roll could get +1 for his one error, Anibale Fly was hampered at the 1st, made a couple of mistakes and raced wide (what was Geraghty playing at?) so maybe +6. Bless The Wings, a 13-y-o XC specialist holds the form down. Even if 160 TR is 2 1/2 stone below the joint best GN performances: Golden Miller and Crisp.

Our mainland trainers are to be congratulated on managing to amass 4 finishers between them.
I expect Bless the Wings would have been retired two years ago had he stayed with Alan King
They’ll have to hope that handicapping in the post Smith era becomes less reactionary to moans from O’Leary and hope for nicer weather
    Good try from Milansbar though.
Only Anibale Fly able to do anything carrying more than 11 stone

Congratulations to Tiger Roll’s adherents especially Bobby. His jump at the last made even me warm to him slightly

    Thanks Pilgarlic.

Cheers Steve, that preview took me bloody hours, just glad to get the winner at the end of it.
