Very keen on Ptit Zig for the race at this stage, and already gave my thoughts on one of the other threads……
Without having been a world beater over hurdles, he still has plenty of decent form which would encourage backers. His recent win at Auteuil was very impressive, and this was coming off the back of another win at Sandown. Due to run again at Auteuil before tackling the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, I think he’ll be near the head of the market by then. Nicholls knows what it takes to win The World hurdle with a chaser who had jumping problems, and though this approach didn’t work with Saphir Du Rheu, I think Zig could be the answer.
With plenty of question marks over the targets of others ahead of him in the market, I’m happy to have him on side, even at this early stage.
I don’t like betting under 50’s at this stage Ante-Post, but I’ve made an exception with him, taking 40’s to 42’s, and added him to some multis up to 20’s.
I’m very surprised that he doesn’t feature in more firms lists. I added him to the exchange market at the start of the month, and there’s always a good chance Stan James will price up once a horse appears on that market, while I have him in Multis with Bet365 & Hills, hence they’ve introduced him as well. That leaves Corals as the only other firm to have priced him up…….I’d really like to see him quoted by other firms, as I’m not sure what they’re missing, as he seems an obvious big player to me.
I like Bellshill as well, but considering connections, he’s a lot harder to try and pin down to one target at this stage.
October 6, 2016 at 23:56 #1265874Now that he’s been confirmed as being kept over hurdles, I’ve backed Yanworth for this. He won’t be fast enough for the Champion Hurdle and covered about four miles in the Neptune last March, so should have no problem with the trip.
October 9, 2016 at 21:08 #1266474I’ve backed Ballyoptic at 16s after yesterday’s win at Chepstow. Novice form was as good as anything last year, and was impressed by the way that he won over an insufficient trip yesterday, with NTD stating that it was primarily a prep race for the Wetherby 3 Miler. There are lots of question marks on whether this will be the target for most in the AP lists so happy to get involved at this stage.
October 10, 2016 at 11:07 #1266503Spot on BG, and there’s definitely value to be had for this race. Ballyoptic was seriously impressive on Saturday, and I’m still trying to work out why I didn’t bet him, and at that price, having backed him at Aintree last season. I think he’s as safe a bet as you could have at this stage, with him surely heading here.
I’ve added The Romford Pele at 33’s and 66’s (edited), and Winter Escape up to 150’s.
The Romford Pele will be 10 next year, which is really too old for me for these Championship races, but after a huge run at Punchestown over timber, he came back out and won again on Friday, and he’s now on a mark where opportunities will be limited, so I’ve a feeling he might just head here. He’s been known as more of a chaser in recent seasons, and ran in The National, but with connections able to call on the very decent O’Faolains Boy & Vintage Vinnie, then I’m hoping he remains over hurdles.
Winter Escape is more of a speculative one, but with a feeling that Yanworth will head to The Champion Hurdle, and no news regarding Jezki (as far as I know) then thought he was worth a risk at that price, he certainly looked very promising last season.

Jessica back in full training and jessica Harrington expects him to be campaigned over staying distances. Stays over hurdles.
I will post the article from about a month ago when I have timeOctober 10, 2016 at 13:00 #1266523JEZKI is back in training with Jessica Harrington, who has nominated the Ryanair World Hurdle as the main objective this season.
The 2014 Champion Hurdle hero stepped up to three miles for the first time in the Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle at the 2015 Punchestown festival and got one over on old rival Hurricane Fly, but missed the whole of last season after heat was found in his foreleg.
“Jezki is back with me and he looks great,” Harrington revealed to the Racing Post yesterday. “He is trotting away and everything seems to have cleared up perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with him at this stage.”
Jezki, who is still only eight, is priced between 12-1 and 20-1 for the World Hurdle next March and his season is likely to revolve around that date.
“I’d imagine he’ll be trained with the World Hurdle in mind. That is what is in my head at the moment anyway. But we will have to take one day at a time with him and we will not be rushing him,” Harrington added.
“It will be a gradual progression into proper work but it is a case of so far, so good.October 11, 2016 at 11:24 #1266673Winter Escape is more of a speculative one, but with a feeling that Yanworth will head to The Champion Hurdle…
I’d see Winter Escape as the pacier type and Yanworth as lacking that bit of dash at two miles. If they were mine, Winter Escape would be aimed at the Champion Hurdle and Yanworth go down the stayers’ route.
October 11, 2016 at 14:15 #1266696You could very well be right Glad………..certainly interested in seeing how good Winter Escape will be this season, whatever route he takes.
November 15, 2016 at 01:35 #1272717I put UNOWHATIMEANHARRY up in the ante post competition about a
month ago, at 25/1 with Coral. I thought I better stick him in here too before he
runs in the Fixed Brush Hurdle on Saturday. He’s still 20/1 with Ladbrokes, and I
think that’s way too big for a horse that has improved with every run since being
sent to Harry Fry a year ago, has won 5 on the bounce, and is a 2 time C/D winner.
I was there, backed him at 16s, and watched him run on best of all in the final
furlong to win the Albert Bartlett impressively. I think there’s more to come from
Harry, and if he’s fit enough 1st time out I expect him to win on Saturday. He’s
generally 14s & 16s (as low as 12s in a place) for the WH, don’t expect him to be
anywhere near that if he wins on Saturday.November 15, 2016 at 22:43 #1272844I took the 38s on offer for VVM on the exchanges for this just in case. Shes best priced 10s on the sports book. Will be keeping this mare onside wherever she ends up
November 15, 2016 at 23:15 #1272850Best of luck Sprinter

Huge fan of the horse, and if she were mine she’d heading to Kempton first.
As for Cheltenham, I think it would be a real shame if they kept her for The Mares Hurdle, I think she’s miles better than that. I know they see her as their “supersub”, but they’re surely, at least considering The World Hurdle, along with The Champion Hurdle & Gold Cup. I’ve been betting her for The Champion Hurdle, but who knows where she’ll actually end up?
November 19, 2016 at 14:56 #1273392Had Lil Rockerfeller down as a good bet for this race since last year. After that run giving 4 lbs to Yanworth more than happy to take some 33’s on him to win this race.
November 19, 2016 at 16:14 #1273420Alan King has stated that the Long Walk is likely to be next for Yanworth. The horse certainly didn’t look like he wanted a drop in trip today.
November 19, 2016 at 17:18 #1273432I thought Yanworth travelled like a very classy horse today and suspect he has much more speed than some might assume going on that performance.
It’ll be interesting to see which way they go with him.
November 19, 2016 at 17:27 #1273435I thought Yanworth travelled like a very classy horse today and suspect he has much more speed than some might assume going on that performance.
It’s not just that performance, though, is it?
He was tapped for toe in both the Bumper and the Neptune; his two festival performances have both suggested that he lacks a genuine turn of foot and there certainly wasn’t one on display today.
November 19, 2016 at 18:34 #1273445If today’s race was 3m Yanworth wouldn’t have stayed.
Seemed to have plenty of speed at two miles.
Kingy was in poor form at last season’s Festival, so wouldn’t take too much notice of that run.
Yanworth needs to settle a lot better than today to be effective at 3m.Value Is EverythingNovember 19, 2016 at 18:42 #1273450I thought Yanworth travelled like a very classy horse today and suspect he has much more speed than some might assume going on that performance.

That might have been a contributory factor but his finishing position in the bumper was primarily down to an inept ride from McCoy and in the Neptune he was beaten by a very good horse who had a perfect trip.
