Was reading Go Down to the Beaten last night and it mentioned that fact that the Welsh National was ran after the GN but before the Scottish in days gone by. I think someone mentioned that earlier in the thread.
January 3, 2018 at 12:50 #1335448My Ladbrokes bet stand. No complaints from me although my wallet would be better off if they were voided !
January 3, 2018 at 13:21 #1335454No ham – unless they’ve changed recently – my understanding is bookmakers usually let ante-post bets go forward to the resceduled race, provided it’s over the same course and distance which this is. ie When rescheduled races are at different tracks ante-post bets are void. Corals deal looks very fair. Exchanges I believe void all bets.
Might be worth TRFers checking with their bookmaker before potentially doubling up.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 3, 2018 at 13:36 #1335456The entries re-opened? As far as im aware ginge, everyone else voided without having to “ask”
January 3, 2018 at 13:36 #1335457Folsom Blue non-runner according to ATR.
January 3, 2018 at 13:53 #1335462As I said ham, Ladbrokes haven’t, even after “asking”
January 3, 2018 at 13:54 #1335463Ah, “entries re-opened” might help explain things, but why are some bookmakers seemingly different then, LS?
Value Is EverythingJanuary 3, 2018 at 14:02 #1335465Phillip Hobbs is probably relieved with the postponement. In poor form at Christmas, but 1 winner, 2 seconds and 2 thirds from his last 10 runners… Not yet what I’d call in “good form”, but not “poor” either. Rock The Kasbah has a better chance now. Sharif don’t like him though.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 3, 2018 at 14:02 #1335466It’s a concession guys – designed to be a goodwill gesture to people who got on at a good price who would be upset to see their bet voided, market rewritten and their value gone.
Everybody’s happy…in theory!
January 3, 2018 at 14:17 #1335468I understand Corals offer, LS. But not why Frankie didn’t get his money back from Ladbrokes.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 3, 2018 at 14:40 #1335470I can’t quite get my head around what Frankie is saying – when did he place the bet and what was he expecting to happen?
Sorry, I know I’m being slow with this one.
January 3, 2018 at 15:17 #1335473Its a strange one, as far as im aware, the bet should be void because the entries re-opened, as at the 5 day stage most of the “big antepost prices” have gone, so punters make there selection based on the field whos declared at that point
So not refunding people who placed there bets after the 5 day decs but still antepost are at a disadvantage, a much bigger disadvantage to those who took the nicer prices if not refunded as technically the field they knew (or near enough) was lining up could have totally changed (im not sure if it actually has) but hypothetically it could have,
Not an expert on this, so someone may very well prove me wrong, i got a refund on CTS, cant mind from whom, but i didnt ask. I just assumed under these circumstances it would have been standard, for all it would have been with all the grade 1 races around it anyway
January 3, 2018 at 17:46 #1335494My bookie offered me refunds but have kept faith in the 2 I backed which I got at bigger prices.
January 3, 2018 at 21:04 #1335508They seem confident of the meeting going ahead despite the weather although will be omitting the 4th down the back and one down the home straight, hope it doesn’t end up like Exeter on Monday as you may as well abandon it
January 3, 2018 at 22:19 #1335515I can’t quite get my head around what Frankie is saying – when did he place the bet and what was he expecting to happen?
Sorry, I know I’m being slow with this one.
I didn’t expect anything would happen – I’m a bit naive and just assumed the bet would still remain valid for the re-arranged race date. However, as people on here seemed to be suggesting all bets would be voided I asked Ladbrokes the question. They confirmed the bet remained valid.
January 3, 2018 at 23:13 #1335522Folsom Blue non-runner according to ATR.
LS, it certainly doesn’t look very good for Folsom Blue, as half the
firms have taken him off their books. I was unaware and can’t seem to
find a quote anywhere saying he is a non runner or unlikely to run.
Do you have a link, or do you know if it came from Elliot or elsewhere ?January 4, 2018 at 01:06 #1335530Hi BigG
LS3 is correct…..info given on ATR,Gary O Brien is part owner.
Horse pulled out of box today a little lame, was reason given.
If only all connections were this transparent.
Credit to them for announcing so swiftly, unfortunate so close to race.Back to the drawing board, also liked his chance at the weights.
