    Haha, nice try Volly!

Faugheen certainly popular so far, although nothing to scare me really. Might have to make his own running unless Swamp Fox presses on.

Fair play to the old horse, did that really nicely. Hard to know what he did exactly but certainly looked near his best there.

Given the ratings that campeador and jezki have, he could very well have jist ran to 160 + on a 2 year layoff

    Exceptional

He did look good but I’m still with Buveur D’Air in March

Splendid performance and all the old power seems to be there in that relentless gallop. Let’s hope he stays sound.

Many horses off a long time make pleasing comebacks before bouncing albeit not at Faugheens level. His next race should tell us more but for now delighted he’s back…. :good: :good:

Admittedly it would have been a bit of a shock if he hadn’t won, but he couldn’t
have done it any more impressively than he did. It was so disappointing to lose him
last year, he’s just brightened up my day :good:

Last year I was on another forum. It is a forum that prides itself, supposedly, on sportsmanship and not bragging or criticising other people’s tips.

Well, I backed Faugheen for the Champion Hurdle ante-post at 3/1 and when it was announced he was out for the year, it was incredible the amount of whoops of delight and the blasts I got for tipping a horse who was now out of the race. Just to add insult to injury I was warned for saying that I thought Moon Racer was poor value for the Champion Hurdle at 33/1.

    Hypocrites.

Anyway Faugheen was a huge loss last year and any true fan should be rooting for a horse of his stature, regardless of financial concerns.

Maybe he’s not fully back but it was great to see him win with such authority today. I can’t back him at 5/2 for the Champion Hurdle, having had him 3/1 last year when he was a year younger. Buveur D’air looks a safer bet at 4/1 to me.

The very best of luck to Faugheen though. No doubt some idiots will be hoping that he gets injured again though. The great unwashed and uncivilised nurks.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Ricci said he hopefully would like to get a couple more runs into him before Cheltenham so with the Irish Champion likely to be his last run beforehand, here is hoping he is ok to come over and regain his Christmas Hurdle crown.

The timing fits in nicely being the races are at the end of December then the end of January, which then gives them just over a month to prepare for the big one.

Just wonderful to see Faugheen back; to think he could have had another 2 Champion Hurdles in the interim.Visually he was most impressive

Dear Lord above that was incredible. This is such a magnificent animal and it was one of the great racing shames of the modern era when he got injured after that monstrous Irish Champion Hurdle victory. He could have been a 3 time Champion Hurdle winner by now. Great to see The Machine back in working order and if he turns up with all systems working in March then it’ll be a racing dream.

    A staggeringly good performance.

Faugheen v Buveur Dair v Defi De Seuill at Cheltenham is absolutely mouthwatering

Faugheen was never the most fluent hurdler, but when he meets one right he is spectacular. Just a s shame he has missed out on 2 Champion Hurdles in the interim. He would have been the champion staying hurdler as well, and another regret is that we never saw him over fences. But lets not be greedy, if he never gets to the racecourse again, we saw The Machine one last time
