Another race which I have a very questionable record in, but the entries are out, and I’ll give it a bash anyway.

No market formed yet, but I’ll definitely be taking a chance on Chesterfield here, from the Seamus Mullins yard.
January 9, 2017 at 23:39 #1281135Corals have Chesterfield priced up at 33’s, and that will do for me. He’s certainly been plying his trade mainly around around 2 miles, but I just thought from the little what I saw of him through the fog in The Wessex Hurdle at Ascot, that a step up in trip wouldn’t inconvenience him. In fact, he looked to have so much left in the tank, that he looks a winner waiting to happen whatever the distance.
Trainer was unlucky getting Song Light close to landing a big prize in The Greatwood, and but for that fog, I think this horses run at Ascot would have caught more peoples attention.
33’s Each way will do for me.
Doesyourdogbite was very impressive the last time here, and I can already see him having a very decent career. I’ll bet him on the day, and I’ll happily sacrifice the 15-2, for hopefully around half that, but with the assurance that he’ll be there.
January 10, 2017 at 16:30 #1281279Colemans jocked up for DYDB and took the 7’s for him to carry on improving. Certainly think 3 miles is going to show him at his best but quietly confident he has the class to run a big race here.
Backed him his last two runs and he hit some funny old prices in running last time.
Hopefully he makes the race and i will probably have him in running as well if he does.
Probably be heading to Cheltenham as well, but i don’t have a clue where. Wish i did
January 10, 2017 at 18:47 #1281315I have backed jaleo here, pleased to see it jocked up as I was a bit worried it had only run on left handed courses so that may have been a problem? seen it run a few times and it looked fairly straightforward
January 11, 2017 at 23:13 #1281528Bennys King for me – about the right time for Venetia William’s charges to start performing.
January 12, 2017 at 01:35 #1281543I think that SAM RED looks the right type for this. He’s shown
enough in Ireland, but not too much, to get in here on 10-6. He was bought in
November and sent to Dan Skelton, hopefully with this in mind. I think Skelton
is the business priming a horse for a decent handicap, and he’s got an entry
in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury in February so Skelton presumably think he’s a
decent sort. I’m happy enough to take the 12/1 on offer.I also think that CRYTAL LAD is overpriced at 25/1 with Bet365.
His 2nd, beaten a nk behind Dashing Oscar, with the pair drawing 13L clear last
December at Sandown was decent enough, but I particularly liked his run 10 days
later at Newbury, where he was travelling nicely behind the leaders until 2 out. He
finished 6th, a good way behind, but Jamie Moore was very gentle with him and
coasted the last couple of furlongs, not being touched at all. The handicapper
dropped him 3lbs for that run, which maybe came a bit soon after Sandown. That
puts him in this on bottom weight, and although he’s 1lb out of the h’cap,
I don’t think is either here nor there.I’m happy to go with those two.
January 12, 2017 at 16:13 #1281599I have backed two in this so far and hopefully they are both going to turn up!!
KALLONDRA at 14/1 this to me looks like it hasn’t finished improving and IMO won very easily at ascot before Chrimbo. My second pick is WILL O THE WEST at 25/1 who I know bombed out at cheltenham but I think the gropund that day just got worse and worse throughout the day and on his run before that ran great and only got beat a head and a short head when three pounds out of the handicap.
Good luck Folks

And Big G that Skelton horse could be a plot but I don’t think his horses are running great at the minute.

He had been a bit quiet Raymo, but seems to be picking up a bit of late with 3 winners and 2 seconds
in the last week to Saturday. Sam Red seems to be getting nibbled at, perhaps that’s just the result
of the field being cut, but I’m hopeful of a good runGood luck with Kallondra and Will O The West, my other fancy Crystal Lad hasn’t made the line up, he’s
down for the 1.50 at Huntingdon tomorrow. He’s up against a bit of a hotpot in Nicky Henderson’s Burbank,
but could be of interest at 11/2 with Paddy Power. Fortunately for me I had only backed Sam Red, CL hadn’t
been jocked up, so I’d hung off at the last moment and no harm has been done there.January 13, 2017 at 23:26 #1281873JALEO 7/1 for me, hopefully has more scope for improvement than most and could go on to better things
January 14, 2017 at 00:22 #1281884I like Jaleo too here. Backed him and Modus.
January 14, 2017 at 09:45 #1281931Blimey Bobby that is a hellova price you have on Chesterfield!!
January 14, 2017 at 14:34 #1282061Lord of the Island @ 12’s for me
January 14, 2017 at 14:53 #1282067Well done with Modus DBR, he won it comfortably
January 14, 2017 at 15:00 #1282070Thanks Raymo, but he never looked likely to my eye.
Well done DBR, easy peasy
January 17, 2017 at 18:26 #1282538Well done DBR, a belated congrats from me
