Thanks, Gord. Just watched it again. He’s turned for home just about on the bridle, been a bit careless two out and jumped the last like a fresh horse. Fox was overly hard on him on the run-in and I wonder if the stewards had a word.
Fox said he hadn’t wanted to be so far back but the horse got his backend knocked by the faller at the second. It didn’t look bad at first viewing angle, but coming away he seemed to go half sideways. After five out, he made his ground up very smoothly to the extent he almost found himself in front too soon.
Fox seemed to believe today would be enough to get him in at Aintree. We’ll see. Strong prospect, no question.
