February 27, 2017 at 15:27 #1289161No word on American Tom or Arctic Fire? I thought I saw somewhere that Arctic Fire got an entry for the County Hurdle? Disapponted that Ballyward isn’t included?
February 27, 2017 at 15:40 #1289162No word on American Tom or Arctic Fire? I thought I saw somewhere that Arctic Fire got an entry for the County Hurdle? Disapponted that Ballyward isn’t included?
No word on american tom, arctic fire is a posibillity same as what was said the other day and ballyward pulled a muscle is 50/50 to make it, carter mckay was the pick of the bumper bunch he said
February 27, 2017 at 15:46 #1289164No ballycasey, Champagne fever, black Hercules, pleasant company, sambremont, battleford, invitation only, american tom, arctic fire, Boston Bob, alechi inois if that list is all he is sending?

Black hercules isnt gojng, hasnt been pleeasing at home
Invitation only is 50/50 might wait for fairyhouse if i remember correct
Arctic fire holds an entry but isnt a definiteNo mention on the others but youd assume there handicap mark wouldnt want rising, theres other targets besides cheltenham remember (for some of them)
Like i said theres other horses that might go, if they are not on the list then its not confirmed yet

The word hopeful is what i have, not confident.
February 27, 2017 at 18:01 #1289173Just been flicking through Oddschecker and loads of Mullins horses being shortened. Do these people think he has a god given right to rack up winners at every Festival? There are going to be a lot of very poor punters should he have a blow out.
Who cares if Limini is supplemented? She shouldn’t be anywhere near good enough, even in a bad year. If he is to be believed the trainer didn’t even think she could beat Apple’s Jade. Her jumping in the early stages was scruffy at best. That won’t work in any Champion Hurdle.
How good a yardstick is Apple’s Jade? It strikes she has never come close to recapturing last year’s spark.
Overall Apples Jade is not a good yardstick, Stilvi; but look at only quick returns and it’s a different story. Considering hadn’t run since early December was imo a perfectly reasonable prep from AJ (for the Mares race) against Limini. Ran ok at Cheltenham last year but improved turned out quickly at Aintree and equally as good same month at Punchestown. Not many horses perform well at Punchestown after running at both Cheltenham and Aintree. Took time to come back this term, but Fairyhouse win against Vroum Vroum Mag was at least as good as anything shown last season and that came only a week after Newcastle. I’d love to see her run again before Cheltenham as she thrives on racing.
Limini herself needs to find quite a lot more improvement to win an average Champion Hurdle. But she is improving at the right time and this looks a less than average renewal. Although the current price doesn’t look value to me.

LOL, that spin coming from the biggest Mullins mouthpiece on here. “Hopeful” magically turns into “confident” with the Mullins boys.
March 1, 2017 at 14:12 #1289444I’m taking a chance with supplemented TOMBSTONE to spring a surprise in this and, although up against it, he has all the credentials to run a good race here having beaten Jezki last time out and last year running on in the Supreme Novices to be 4th to Altior, Min and Buveur D’Air.
He’s my one of my Ten to Follow in Bobby’s competition and I’ll be cheering him home on the day.
I believe the plan is to let him take his chances over the fences next year and still a young horse he could turn out to be an exciting prospect for Cheltenham 2018.
Good luck to all

Elliot was all over it at the betfair preview night. mentioned him a few times that he would like to go the handicap route and then butted in when someelse mentioned Tombstone that he could guarantee it would go the handicapping route
March 1, 2017 at 23:09 #1289513Yeah Elliott said he’d be mad to go Champion with his mark. Another one gone for MTOY fans!

Noticed he had entries for those two races Nathan and personally be glad to see him win either.
I’ve put no money down on the horse as yet, I just like his attitude and why pay £20,000 to supplement if there is a race which could be his for the taking…
I do think 2018 will be his year but with all the high class withdrawals at The Festival this year surely he has a good chance of a big win over hurdles before he goes chasing and The Champion Hurdle is as good as it gets
