I don’t think Sceau Royal will be in the first 3. He puts in the odd classy win which suggests he could be in the shake-up in a Champion but every time he’s been fully tested he’s come up short. But I’m mainly struggling to understand how Brain Power has found himself as short as 8/1 for the Champion Hurdle off the back of winning a soft ground Ascot handicap in which we couldn’t even see how well he jumped and travelled. His only run at Cheltenham culminated in a down the field finish in the Greatwood and that was his first race at a left-handed track since coming 10th at Aintree in 2015.

Agree with this
Still think the best each way value is my lad MTOY at 33s
January 29, 2017 at 23:37 #1284688To be fair to Brain Power, that run in the Greatwood – the worst race of his career – was the only time he’s encountered soft ground.

Me and you both. Must have done £5 EW 7 or 8 times now at 50’s. Needs good ground tho

My main bet on him is in an each way multi with ADO, One For arthur in the GN and a couple of others
If the 33s is still about soon, I’ll stick a few quid on the single. At the minute, I’m happy enough with him in many each way lucky 15s
January 30, 2017 at 12:25 #1284750Petit Mouchoir ran 2m hurdles in 3m41s yesterday! I know the vagaries of absolute race times, and also conditions but that is unbelievably fast, aligns to the comments of David Mullins too. Will be interesting to see the sectional analysis from Rowlands
January 30, 2017 at 12:35 #1284754That is crazy fast I’ve just been researching recent quick times over 2 miles and another one I found surprisingly is BRAIN POWER LTO ran 3:39 carrying 11st 11 lb. that is exceptional aswell and he’s a potential improver
January 30, 2017 at 12:36 #1284755Of course that doesn’t mean he will win but it is interesting
January 31, 2017 at 10:09 #1284928Some quotes from Nicky –
Buveur D’Air has entries in the Arkle, JLT and Champion Hurdle and Henderson told his StanJames blog: “He’ll run on Saturday at Sandown, which may tell us more, but I’m not ruling anything in or out. He has the entry in the Champion Hurdle for a reason and I’m very open on this one.”
He added: “Top Notch is going to run in the Scilly Isles as well and is entered in everything at Cheltenham, from the Champion Hurdle down to the Arkle including the JLT. His confidence is sky high and we should probably stay over fences but he has lots of options.”
Arkle for Altior
At the same time, Henderson poured cold water on any suggestion that Arkle favourite Altior could deviate from that path. “Some people have suggested Altior might be considered for the Champion Hurdle now Annie Power is out, and there’s only one answer to that question – no. He isn’t even entered in the race and the Arkle is still very much the plan,” he said.
January 31, 2017 at 10:31 #1284929By the sounds of it if Buveur D’air doesn’t win or run a great race Saturday he will be going champion.
Which would surely mean yorkhill stays in JLT ??
If they both pull out of JLT there’s massive prices to be had!
And in that scenario would Min re-route to JLT?
I’m now kind of hoping Buveur dair wins Saturday so it does mess everything up hahaJanuary 31, 2017 at 12:58 #1284941By the sounds of it if Buveur D’air doesn’t win or run a great race Saturday he will be going champion.

January 31, 2017 at 13:29 #1284950Buveur D’Air’s in the Contenders Hurdle on Saturday ;)
January 31, 2017 at 13:34 #1284951Buveur D’Air’s in the Contenders Hurdle on Saturday
Also entered in Betfred TV Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase tho.
January 31, 2017 at 13:35 #1284952Yes, but still interesting ;) #freebuveurdair
January 31, 2017 at 13:49 #1284954“The Arkle still very much the plan”
No definite that he runs there. If he hoses up in the Game Spirit, I believe he’ll be QM bound.
January 31, 2017 at 14:22 #1284956I really don’t think so. I think the only chance he goes CC is if Douvan doesn’t run. He has a penalty kick in the arkle v racing against a really top notch horse in Douvan he may not be ready to face yet. That clash wont happen till next season if at all (as Douvan could step up).
January 31, 2017 at 15:34 #1284969Confirmed that Buveur D’Air goes Champion Hurdle!
