Lol ok, so you got him for about £2k then. Nice early spot, VtC also has close to 500s.
Very surprised to see Yorkhill available at 20s-25s after the Irish Champion. Baffled as to why people would lay him at that after NC got beaten for Wylie. Took the opportunity to get him onside. Ivanovich G was also there at 110s and 130s, which I also duly took. Need to get him onside wherever he runs.
Write L’Ami Serge off at your peril
I tend to agree with you Zark but there’s more chance of Donald Trump banning guns in Texas than there is of L’Ami Serge winning a Champion Hurdle
The dark horse at a big price is Sceau Royal IMO.
January 29, 2017 at 17:04 #1284577Wasn’t overly impressed by Petit Mouchoir, tho Footpad may have been flattered by final margin. If Faugheen not in form, it becomes a very open race. Think Nichols Canyon has lost his form, jumped right continually.
January 29, 2017 at 17:06 #1284579Wish I had 480/1 petit but I would definitely be laying it because I really don’t see it winning.
Yanworth now has this comfortably
Luckily I got 20/1January 29, 2017 at 18:01 #1284585Ivanovich G was also there at 110s and 130s, which I also duly took. Need to get him onside wherever he runs.
Think they’re lining up a bid for the county hurdle. Was 150, but will probably be 146 on Tuesday
January 29, 2017 at 18:47 #1284598Backed Brain Power yesterday @ 12’s NRNB to win.
Reminds me so much of Make A Stand and Rooster Booster just blasting everything out of the way in his races. Watching each time they won and saying to myself that’s a good horse that.
I backed them both on the day but should of been on at much bigger prices.
It feels like a bad price i have took now because i really wanted to back him at much bigger prices but never.

Luckily I got 20/1Yanworth at 20’s is very nice – sounds more like shrewd betting than luck
January 29, 2017 at 20:24 #1284617Without getting laughed at – can i get any support for Sceau Royal?? I’ve backed it at monster odds (win/place)

I am with you 100% on this Jaymo and see no reason for anyone to laugh at that.
Bolted up at Cheltenham towards the end of last year in impressive time. Was travelling very strongly turning in during the Fighting Fifth and just ran out of steam on ground that was too soft. His jumping really impressed me in both races.
Previous festival form is a slight concern but then the same could be said for Yanworth who is 0/2. That being said, if the ground is soft then Yanworth gets the better of Sceau Royal all day, however, if it is good spring ground then I am with Sceau Royal and would fancy him to do Yanworth for speed.
January 29, 2017 at 20:46 #1284622I’m having a think about this and I’m probably 70/30 faugheen either does run or goes without a prep run and shouldn’t win. If that’s the case I think yorkhill may come here since Nichols canyon wasn’t going to win today.
Furthermore I believe that buveur dair will stay in the JLT so I am tempted to have a lump on him with hopefully yorkhill to come out.
I think BD stays because McManus will know Yanworth is better and Henderson will probably tell him brain power is just as good if not better. So perhaps a pointless move. If he does go champion hurdle that would be saying something BIG.
But for those reasons I think JLT and hoping yorkhill comes out.January 29, 2017 at 20:47 #1284623Faugheen doesn’t run*
January 29, 2017 at 20:52 #1284628Good analysis Charlie. Just thought its gone off everyones radar. Good/soft for the start of the fez and i hope it can outrun his odds.

Sceau Royal will get lapped??
January 29, 2017 at 22:13 #1284657You realise I only mean it figuratively, right? I just don’t think he’s a top quality horse. I might have been exaggerating a little, but his profile is a bit underwhelming. Smashes up bad races, runs poorly in strong races.

Haha yeh I know mate. He needs to prove his quality, no argument there. Looking at this more from a place perspective than anything else. He needs good ground and I think if he gets it in march then he will be in the mix
