I have backed 2 to win. First choice is Eduard who should come back to best following run after long absence & benefit from up in trip. Secondly Irish Saint, similar profile, I wasn’t sure re trip but trainer must be as he says this was the target. Main danger Go Conquer but he is up 2 classes whereas IS has performed well loads of times at a higher level & is 3 points bigger. Respected is Minella Daddy (but also big class rise). I then prefer Le Mercurey to Fourth Act as the latter’s jumping is unreliable. Another Hero is also up in class & may have a later target. Not sure what the plans are for TDN (another tilt at GN?) but think needs more of a test anyway. Hard to fancy any of the others for various reasons.
I’ve backed Irish Saint 8/1, Fourth Act 12/1 and Another Hero 14/1 with savers on Go Conquer 5.6/1 and Le Mercurey 9/1.

Nothing screams out to me ATM so it’s a no play race for me for now. More Of That would be the only one I’d fancy at this stage but still a no bet scenario until we know he’s going to run.

Minella Daddy definitely the bet here for me then at 9-1, and after Eastlake win last week, can Jonjo pull it out the bag with Holywell this weekend at 33-1. I know that he is a spring horse really but I might have a few shillingsxeach way on him today

I have actually backed three in this EDOUARD 8/1 FOURTH ACT 12/1 and TENOR NIVERNAIS 33/1 but I am not particularly confident about any of them LOL

1 placed at 9s and the other at 20s done by a neck.Both in double each way with Un Temps Pour Tout though which is nice

Well done Venture + Battle Group, a great early 50-1 pick with Another Hero and I hope you and assume you were both in each way.
Dreadful news.Thought he had the potential to become a very decent stayer after his gallant 4th in the Ryanair a couple of years back and connections have been very patient with him.

Yeah, just awful news about Eduard, and just as awful to watch.
Seems wrong even discussing the race after that, but quick mention to Minella Daddy, who I really liked for this, and thought he ran a cracker. Clearly a horse to keep on side of. Very unlucky today Lemons.

Cheers Buckers, yeah, had him each way, so very happy, but of course, the win would have been nicer. Shouldn’t really be complaining about a 50-1 shot though I suppose. Well done Mom, and hopefully BG, Graham, and Zark were on ew too.
