Quite like Foxbridge, but it’s a really tough race to break down. What A Good Night is also of interest.

I’m a loyal person, so the Houblon gets a small sum as well. For sentiment purposes.

Happy enough with Sego but having changed my mind a few times over the likes of Dromnea, Rigadin & Houblon (who still looks absolutely chucked in), I’ve included Midnight Prayer at 14’s each way.

It’s just been niggling me that if the coughing was so bad last week that he would miss the Welsh Natioanl, then why would Alan King put him through a test like this. He’s no mug King, and he might just have foreseen those desperate conditions, and thought it too big an ask for this fragile horse. So far, the conditions look a lot fairer at Warwick than they did at Chepstow.

That pair just ahead of Dromnea and Houblon for me.

In a bit of a quandary here, I really fancied the chances of WHAT A GOOD NIGHT,
and I haven’t given up on him yet, but he is facing the heavy ground that I had
hoped he would miss. I was half expecting that Dan Skelton might have pulled
him out this morning, based on the 3 poor rounds he put in when he encountered
heavy going. That was 2+ years ago, and he is a better horse now, but there has
to be a big question mark now.

His price has drifted to 16/1, which I would have bitten your hand off for a week
ago (I took 14s), it doesn’t imply a great deal of confidence, but I can’t see Skelton
running him if he thinks he won’t handle the conditions.

Don’t let the ground put you off Big G, am sure WAGN will act on the heavy. You don’t get times like the card on his last start at Bangor unless it is bottomless. Although there is a question mark on whether he’ll stay the trip on the ground worth a bet at the price. Also, I’d say he’s been pretty steady in the market. Indeed, I took 18/1 last night and now top price 16’s.

Hope your right there Ginger. I really like him and on better ground I
would fancy him even more, but my money is down now so I hope he can
    do us both a turn.

Well done getting the 18s, I thought I was being smart taking the 14s
a few days back, but I’ve topped up with the 16s today.

I’m not feeling to confident at the moment…..he’s out to 20/1 :-(
2 mins to the off, fingers crossed.

Well that didn’t go quite to plan, but congratulations to Charlie Poste for
a terrific ride, especially having to take the last 3 fences with his
saddle having slipped. As they say up up here, if Kerry Lee fell into the
Clyde, she would come out with a salmon in her pocket, she can do very
little wrong at the moment. Congratulations to her and connections.

Well done Joe (Steeplechasing) for picking this one out, a cracking 20/1
    winner :yahoo:
Your 2nd pick, Foxbridge was a bit unlucky to get bumped by the loose horse,
shooting young Jamie Bargary out the side door. I had a saver on him, which
turned out not to save me very much

Thanks, Graham I cursed when Foxbridge went out, but as RB began to get into a nice rhythm, I was kind of relieved Foxbridge wasn’t still there to upset the applecart.

There’s definitely something about these trainers who specialize in staying chasers. RB can be marked up on that too given the tack problems

    lol Joe, I sure did.

Don’t know whether to cry or really cry with that 2, 3, 4, but consoling myself with the fact that Sego would have been in there too, and I at least got my place money from Midnight Prayer. Scraped a profit

    Nice one Joe. :good:

Wanted to be against the prominent runners, there being too many of them – which worked out. Should’ve backed RB myself, with Kerry Lee in such good form and usually mid-div or held up. Unfortunately, I had doubts about him staying the trip but as you say – stable are so good with stayers.
