If picking the winner of The Gold Cup wasn’t hard enough, then we have these 2 to contend with as well. Plenty of 5 places as well, so I’ll try to take advantage of that.
In The Bronze, I’m going to take a chance on Classic Seniority at the 16’s. Seems in good form, and I’d be disappointed if he doesn’t get competitve, even off of his high enough mark. Not going to spend too much time looking for backups, and though both woefully out of form, if I do go in again, it’ll be with Goring @ 25’s, and Magic City @ 50’s. I’ve seen bits and pieces to encourage me, and at those prices, willing to take a chance.
In The Silver, of my 2 long term hopes for it, only Intasaab has made it. He’ll definitely be bet, and the 9’s, especially with that 5 places available looks a sensible bet. I’ll also go for Louis The Pious at a big 33’s. Louis’s let me down this year, but one run in particular gives me some hope, and I can’t help but side with him again. I’ll decide on the day if Shipyard 16’s, or An Saighdiur 25’s make it a trio for me
September 16, 2016 at 10:59 #1263702Just backed Eccleston in the Silver Cup to win @ 18´s. Runs well in big fields and has slowly been dropping back to a mark he is capable of winning from.
Interesting to see a bit cash for him this morning.
Will have a little e-w on Louis as always
September 16, 2016 at 14:01 #1263727Today’s BRONZE CUP
My idea of the winner here for about a week now, was Michael Dods’ FENDALE.
He caught the eye in the consolation race for the Great St Wilfred at Ripon, the race
before last. He ran a really good race, winning his race against those drawn on the
far side. The field of 20 split into two, he beat the ten his side, but unfortunately
for him that wasn’t the side to be drawn on and he finished 5th. The good thing about
winning the race on your side, but not winning, is there’s no penalty. I fancied him
last time out at Doncaster last week, and I wasn’t alone as he wen’t off 2nd fav. He was
drawn on the wrong side again, but didn’t really get into it. Michael Dods thought he was
“holding something back”, so he’s running in 1st time cheek pieces. I’m worried that it
is soft, but by all accounts the ground on the side of those drawn low is better than
that of those drawn high. I’m backing him probably because I’d kick myself if he hoses
up despite the ground, but it is a worry. He’s generally 16s but Sportingbet offer 20s.As a back up I’m going for one that will like the ground, and is again drawn on what
appears to be the right side. It may look like I’m in the Michael Dods’ fan club, but
I like the look of his other horse in this OCEAN SHERIDAN. He won with
something in hand 3 weeks ago at Thirsk, and although he has a 5lb penalty for that, I
think he’s worth more than the penalty. I grabbed the 10/1 this morning, he’s a bit
shorter at 8/1 now but I think that’s still worth a bet.Good luck all
September 16, 2016 at 16:26 #1263745Bobby my man, you’re on fire at the moment !!!. 20/1 is superb and thoroughly
deserved it with a brave run, holding on well from my nag. Well done
September 16, 2016 at 17:57 #1263752In The Bronze, I’m going to take a chance on Classic Seniority at the 16’s. Seems in good form, and I’d be disappointed if he doesn’t get competitve, even off of his high enough mark.
Top class stuff Bobby. Hope you can land the treble of Cups and make yourself a Legend in the process.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 16, 2016 at 18:14 #1263757Top stuff Bobby

I backed FENDALE 20/1
and OCEAN SHERIDAN 10/1And I know it is after timing but I had a combo exacta those two with Classic Seniority nearly
two hundred quid for three quid staked!! WOW!!The Silver Cup tomorrow I have backed INTISAAB 9/1 GET KNOTTED 16/1 and LEXINGTON ABBEY 20/1 and a combo exacta too!! Hoping that lightning can strike twice
September 16, 2016 at 19:33 #1263772Flying Pursuit for me. Hoping the First time blinkers work. 2nd in his last two starts.
September 17, 2016 at 00:35 #1263826Well done Bobby
Now for go for GOLD
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 17, 2016 at 09:03 #1263849It is very difficult to oppose Intisaab. Plenty of big field and course form. He is the horse bookmakers don’t want to see in the 5. I think Nuno Tristan may be the best of the rest. I did look at Lexington Abbey but he looks a weak stayer to me and the booking of Smullen is not that significant as he has already been beaten on the horse twice before.
September 17, 2016 at 09:42 #1263855The closer we get to the race the more I fancy Get Knotted…..
What’s not to like??
Good Draw (Tick)
Won over the trip (Tick)
In form (Tick)
Stays further (Tick)
Trainer in decent form (Tick)
16/1 That will do for me !!I think Lexington is a definite danger Stilv and isn’t it funny how we all look at things differently. I think it has almost been crying out for further.
Good Luck Folks
September 17, 2016 at 14:08 #1263923Silver Cup – I’m not a favourite backer by rule, but I can’t get away from
the chances of INTISAAB. Well done Bobby getting 9/1, that would be some
double with Classic Seniority yesterday. I’ve had to settle for 7/1 but I
think that’s still valueSeptember 17, 2016 at 17:26 #1263939Thanks all
September 19, 2016 at 11:13 #1264039A belated well done bobby
