Seabass managed to get injured and is out.
No luck G, thought about you when I heard the news, better luck with Across The Bay, impossible to rule out………and still a working mans price.
Thanks VTC, it was a bitter blow, at 11years it possibly might be his last chance although they could plan a final fling for next year, but he might just be the one that got away.
I don’t think Across The Bay is in that league, but at the "working man’s price" you rightly mention, I think he should run a good race and a place is certainly not out the question.
I would just love to see Tidal Bay pull it off, if he is anywhere near the leading pack with half a mile to go, I don’t think anything will finish better than him. It really could be a fairytale National with TB becoming a legend in what would no doubt be his swansong. I always look forward to the National, but never more so than this year.

It’s written in the stars, G. It just has to happen!

I think you could be right Peter, I so hope that you are……there wont be a dry eye in the house if he does it
March 26, 2014 at 21:53 #473364I thought PN said TB would carry on racing because it would be impossible to use him for anything else? I adore the horse [was amazing when he won at Wetherby] but he is dangerous. If he wins I can’t see him opening betting shops or going to village fetes

Absolutely right Moe, he seems to be more than a bit of a handful, he’s still got that "Diva" side to him, which is probably the reason he still has the appetite for it at 13. However Nicholls did also say …..
" If he went and won the National that might well be a case of having to retire him"
If he did win, what else would there be for him to do. Unless they thought they would do something that has never been done before, and bring him back to try and win it again at 14, and I don’t see that happening, then even if in his box he is, as they say, madder that mad Jack McMad, I think it would be time to hang up his horseshoes.
March 27, 2014 at 01:57 #473386Yeah, doubt you’d see him here at 14, G. Would be too much pressure on connections, similar to that when Hello Bud was due to line up at that age.
Here’s hoping he just goes out on a high at 13
March 27, 2014 at 11:26 #473404I had a little nibble on TeaforThree when the betting came out. Gone in on 2 more this morning and both available at 66s.Wayward Prince and Quito De La Roque
March 27, 2014 at 11:44 #473412I was wondering what You’d backed, Jeno as you seem to have an eye for a winner! I’ve backed Quito; annoyingly haven’t, thus far backed T43 [why oh why oh why??] and Wayward Prince is my bogey horse. The bad news is that he only runs well when I don’t back him [which I haven’t yet, so I’m in a dilemma about it]. I need someone to slip me a fiver to ignore him

If you don’t back Wayward Prince and it wins I will go on record to say I will happily give you £5, and I free £10 charity bet of your choice to whatever charity you choose.
March 27, 2014 at 13:27 #473423Stick me down for a fiver as well Jenno, thanks a lot
If you don’t ask, you don’t get!

Come on chaps, be fair. I’m married with an ex wife and 4 kids (And a dog, 2 chickens and 1 fish)who all want a piece of my winnings in their own way. Leave me with a bit of profit!!!

March 27, 2014 at 21:25 #473464It’s my new cunning plan. I can’t make money by backing horses these days so I have to make money by NOT backing them. Any more that anyone wants me to not back

That sounds like a really good idea. My trick is backing a horse that loses only for it to win next time out when I’m not on
Sounds like a good business plan coming together!!!!
March 28, 2014 at 11:25 #473493Would my usual 25 pence ew be ok?
