I was absolutely delighted with Seabass’s run at Fairyhouse yesterday, considering it was over a distance short of what he needs and to say he looked a little on the "tubby" side, would be being kind to him. Even with all that, he still went down just over a length to Warne, running strongly all the way to the line.
As a prep run for the National (his first run since Auteuil last June) it couldn’t have gone better and will bring him on a ton. The market hasn’t reacted at all, which surprises me a little, so the 33/1 generally (40/1 with a couple of smaller internet bookies) makes huge appeal.
February 23, 2014 at 18:34 #468941Rockyaboya, 14-1 for the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Chase at Cheltenham and entered in the Festival Handicap Chase and Byrne Group Plate, will miss the rest of the season. Owner Patrick Mullins said: "Unfortunately, he has suffered a tendon injury."( 53 mins ago)

February 26, 2014 at 15:18 #469300I’m surprised about White Star Line; I’d almost talked myself into backing him. Pity about Renard VtC, although the more I read up on him the more I thought he wouldn’t stay [although came a hairs breadth away from having a small ew on him a couple of days ago].
February 26, 2014 at 21:08 #469329Disappointed about Planet of Sound, he was on my shortlist a few weeks ago.

Put £2 on Boston Bob on betfair at 230/1
March 2, 2014 at 10:12 #469687Even making allowances not the best effort from Monbeg Dude. The jumping issues have not been sorted out and if he is to make a steady run through the field they will need to be.
Just backed Home Farm. He runs today but might be inconvenienced by the softening ground so there is a chance he could drift a little in which case he would represent an even better bet. At the moment 33/1 is perfectly reasonable as he still has the potential to be the biggest improver in the field.
March 2, 2014 at 10:46 #469690Very interesting choice of mount by McCoy in the Carrickmines Chase today, favouring Colbert Station over Double Seven and Knocklong. Colbert Station weakened so rapidly last time out that I feared he was having a heart attack, so he needs to prove his wellbeing here.
With Home Farm also involved, this could be an informative race with a view to the Grand National.
March 2, 2014 at 22:20 #469752CS ran another stinker today, my faith in him is waning quickly. Back to the drawing board, perhaps a strong stayer such as Same Difference or Wyck Hill could stake a claim.
March 4, 2014 at 19:52 #469984I backed Pineau de Re yesterday. Has won over a trip and seems to stay on in his races. Although probably more aimed at a nice little hurdle race next week. Was a decent horse in his youth and I did say I’d follow the trainer this year. Other than that the race is still boggling my mind [and should be concentrating on Cheltenham].
March 4, 2014 at 20:37 #469990Any news on HAWKES POINT any chances of dropping out if conditions do not suit? Jumped amazingly in the welsh national, my pick for the national, hopefully runs near the front again. Seriously think got run not to suit in the trial run to get a better weight (only my ignorant opinion don’t want to offend anyone) looking to put a hefty E/W on @ 40/1 if anybody highly advises against this with a reason please do so!
