Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 23, 2013 at 15:22 #443788Okay so collectively Ginger and Gord are odds on (deep), but hoping this is not a 2 horse race.
Since I’m only allowed 15 to 25 other races I’m going to go very carefully. My first 2 are at ROYAL ASCOT.
RACE 1
ESTIMATE (ASCOT GOLD CUP) 13/2 Betvictor (2 points win)
RACE 2
PRINCE OF JOHANNE (ROYAL HUNT CUP) 16/1 general (1 POINT EACH WAY)

Thanks to ESTIMATE. Will be on the outlook for race 3 but keeping my powder dry for now!
You’re profit should be +11 Red Rum. We don’t get our stakes back in this competition. Just keeping tabs on you.

Pretty sure a 13/2 winner returns 15 and a profit of 13, not return 13 and a profit of 11. By the way just for future use, it’s your not you’re.

Hi can I change the returns on estimate to 6.5 and Al Kazeem to 5.5 and add a profit column under "return"?

A 25-1 winner plus a non runner means an overall profit of + 29.25, 2 bets used.
June 23, 2013 at 18:49 #443824Pretty sure a 13/2 winner returns 15 and a profit of 13, not return 13 and a profit of 11. By the way just for future use, it’s your not you’re.
You’re
both right.
Estimate @ 13/2 does return 15 a profit of 13 jbale. But I think Wyldesyde’s point is the 1 point each way (-2) needs to come off that 13, so an over all TOTAL profit of +11 points for Red Rum. Still a really good start.
Value Is EverythingJune 23, 2013 at 20:21 #443827You’re profit should be +11 Red Rum. We don’t get our stakes back in this competition. Just keeping tabs on you.
Sorry, I thought any winning bet gets their stake returned.
If an each way bet was to come in second, for example you get only your place stake back and your win stake is lost. We don’t get refunds for non runners though because it’s on run or not [or something similar
]. Anyway happy to count as +11 then, so long as everybody is keeping to same rules.
Ginger, if we don’t get our stake back then horses like SPRINTER SACRE whose a best price of 1/2 with PADDY POWER for next year’s Queen Mother Chase would count as -0.50 surely any winner should count as a positive.
P.S. If you look at Nathan’s returns his stakes are included in his workings out.
June 23, 2013 at 21:33 #443833Thanks GT and Red Rum for clearing this up. Thanks also to j’bale for pointing out my apostropherical error. It won’t be the last I suspect.
