Okay so collectively Ginger and Gord are odds on (deep), but hoping this is not a 2 horse race.
Since I’m only allowed 15 to 25 other races I’m going to go very carefully. My first 2 are at ROYAL ASCOT.
RACE 1
ESTIMATE (ASCOT GOLD CUP) 13/2 Betvictor (2 points win)
RACE 2
PRINCE OF JOHANNE (ROYAL HUNT CUP) 16/1 general (1 POINT EACH WAY)

legend of the Ante-Post Kingdom selects.-
Champion Hurdle,.- My Tent or Yours
6/1 freely available!
I think the price has collapsed in reality and one poor effort will see his price drift out to 10/1 but because he’s the biggest certainty of the whole year I’m putting him up now hoping he goes 3/1 after 1 run!2 Points win. 6/1 William Hills.
Gold Cup,.- Boston Bob
I still think he has to go Gold cup route and 25/1 is fair,if he does turn up on the day I cant see how this fellows profile will allow him to go off at these sort of prices!
1 Point Win 25/1 Bet365
Gold Cup,.- First Lieutenant
I wont be giving up with this fellow, some good judges think this was his year had he ran but I believe he’ll be just as good next year,if not better,he still has scope for a bit more improvement imo.
1 Point Win 16/1 Stan James.
2000gns,.- Stubbs
I’ve seen enough already to suggest this fellow has a proper 2000Gns profile, after he wins the Coventry the 20/1 freely available now will dissapear!
1 Point e/w 20/1 William Hills
plus
2 points Win and 1 point e/w according to rules at 20/1 William Hills
! Thats me won the competition already then,I’ll give the ‘Frankel’ Pic to Jonibake!
Ascot Gold Cup,.- Simenon 2 pts win 8/1 Ladbrokes
Being the first person on here to spot this fellows talent I’d hate to see others benefit from my own foresight! Thats how serious I’m taking this comp!
2014 Derby,.- Sir John Hawkins 1pt e/w 25/1 Bet365
,’Peeping Fawn’ was an all time fav filly of mine and this colt looks a helluva lot like her! We’ll see!
World hurdle,.- At Fishers Cross 2 pts Win 9/2 Skybet
, a Shocking Ante-Post price but another one of TAPK’s finds of the season last year,Serious horse who wont be jumping fences so looks an obvious target.
Hunt Cup,.- Global Village 1 pt e/w 25/1 Ladbrokes
,looks like my initial fancy ‘Chapter Seven’ is wasting his time Pacemaking again!Nearly put him up too!

June 15, 2013 at 01:00 #442785Ginge thanks for doing this and for your answer to my post, all fair points made and glad it’s got off to a good start with TAPK taking part it looks like a two horse race.

I’m going to show my ignorance here, but I’m not as clued up on the technical and betting side of things as the rest of you. Obviously I understand the concept of ante-post betting, but could you clarify (In terms that suit a simpleton.) exactly what constitutes an ante-post bet? Does it just mean any bet struck before the four day declarations are made?
The reason I’m asking is because I’d like to tip a couple of horses for next week’s Royal Ascot meeting but I’m struggling to find the races listed and priced up anywhere yet.
In particular I want to choose Mars in the Tercentary Stakes (I want to back him too.) on Thursday but cannot find a price anywhere??
If I wait until it is listed on the race card previews at what point will I have missed the boat for the comp?
Sorry to sound like a lemon.
June 15, 2013 at 07:44 #442797BTW I’ve only just realised that some races are compulsory. If I’m out of time you’ll have to delete these Ginge:
Quuen Anne – Declaration Of War – 2 points win
King’s Stand – Reckless Abandon 2 points win
Prine Of Wales – The Fugue 1 point EW
Royal Hunt Cup – Prince Of Johanne – 1 point EW
Edit: Doh! I’ve just realised they aren’t compulsory races.
June 15, 2013 at 07:52 #442798Bloody hell I’ve just tried reading the rules again and I’m completely lost. Is there no limit on how many races a competitor puts up?
I get the ‘8 Compulsory races’ and the ’15 from 25′ thing, but other than that can a competitor give infinite selections?
Sorry if I’m being a pain. Maybe I should just stick to donating the prize.

The 8 Compulsory races you have to pick a selection or you lose 2 points on each race you don’t select.
You can’t give infinite selections, from the other races you must pick a selection in at least 15 of the races but can pick up to 25 if you wish. So by the end of the competition including the Compulsory races you should have picked in a minimum of 23 races and maximum of 33.

Hi Hammy,
Unfortunately the rules had to be a little difficult to make it worth while.Races
need
to be in the list of "Compulsory" or "Other" races to qualify in this competition Hammy, so the Tercentenary does
not
qualify.
In the
named
races selections must be in by
midnight
the night
before
final decs are known.
Hope that helps. Any more questions, feel free to ask.
