More money for Peddlars Cross down to 11/4 in a lot of places now.
February 14, 2012 at 16:46 #391324Think anything negative about Sprinter Sacre would have been reflected on betfair. He’s rock solid. Not sure why anyone who knew something negative about the fav would be smashing up Peddlars Cross tbh. Seems a rather stupid thing to do.
February 14, 2012 at 17:26 #391331This race is delcious.
Potential Monster in SS, very unexposed could be the business.
Champion hurdle second, highest rated hurdler. Race regularly goes to the highest hurdler.
Al Ferof, future stayer, relishes the hill.
Cant’t wait. Wish i didn’t back anything now, never got a great price and i think al ferof might get done.
February 14, 2012 at 17:30 #391332imagine it is just the massively positive vibes from McCain yard, the huge fan base for the horse, the course form, the excuse last time. 3-1 is about fair really. Still has questions to answer now.
February 14, 2012 at 18:52 #391354How can Peddler’s Cross be the price he is I have no idea? On chase form he has won 2 Mickey Mouse races as he should & then got slammed at Kempton. Don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of the horse and he’s the highest rated hurdler but he’s not run up to anywhere near his best since the Champ Hurdle. People must have a lot of faith to back at that price because any other horse would not be 3/1 based on his recent form. I can’t see how he is shorter than Al Ferof tbh. He has a great record at the course & a really nice profile for the Arkle but surely underpriced.
February 14, 2012 at 19:07 #391359It could be that a few of the bookies are adjusting their books slightly with the possibility of a large number of ante-post multiple acca’s starting to border on looking dangerous for them?
Peddlers Cross was always one towards the head of the market from an early stage. In the last few weeks there has been significant performances (and moves) in a lot of other main races aswell…
Hurricane Fly – 9/4 into 5/6
Quevega – 5/4 into 8/11
Sizing Europe – 5/2 into 5/4
Long Run – 5/2 into 2/1
If 4 or 5 of the real fancied ones go in on the first two or three days I dread to think what price Long Run could end up going off!
February 14, 2012 at 23:30 #391389From HurdyGurdyman to Zarkava it’s interesting to read the different opinions.
HurdyGurdyMan doesn’t offer opinions, only facts. And we’re idiots if we choose to doubt those facts.
If you weren’t so thick you’d realise the reason Peddlers Cross is dropping in price is the layers on Betfair know that after it was announced CC and SS would clash in the Game Spirit he was bound to go short no matter which horse won the race.
They grab all the best prices then lay it back to a *(CENSORED TO SAVE THE MODERATOR THE BOTHER)* like you. It’s called trading and can give you a completely wrong view of what is really happening in the market.
February 14, 2012 at 23:40 #391391Exactly four weeks time, some people will be doing a lot of gloating on here, and others will be pulling out excuses like a magician does with rabbits. Hopefully I am on the right side of it
February 14, 2012 at 23:59 #391396Jesus wept, do you put your tongue in your cheek? Or is that space reserved for other long pink things?
There’s been no gamble on Peddler’s Cross? 8s into 3s in 42 days after he was beaten 16 lengths by your fella. What would you call that? The bookies ‘clipping’ his price? You’re doing a good impression of an idiot. Strange because I didn’t have you down as being able to do good impressions. Maybe it comes naturally to you.
February 15, 2012 at 02:19 #391407I’m amazed at the gamble on Peddlers Cross- I think he was put in his place last time out by the better chaser- pure and simple. Sprinter Sacre towered over him and outjumped him at pretty much every fence. He barely came off the bridle and won very easily.
How on earth he’s supposed to turn that around at Cheltenham is beyond me. Personally I think all these "Sprinter Sacre won’t get up the hill" arguments smack of clutching at straws.
I think Sprinter Sacre will win the Arkle easily and for me, both Peddlers Cross and Al Ferof look like decent place lays. Neither of them look particularly big and strike me of horse’s that are going to go to the top of the chasing ladder.
February 15, 2012 at 02:41 #391409Absolutely disgusting talk Zarkava is this what this forum is coming to?
Abuse abuse and more abuse!!!!!
No facts just open the mouth and let the belly rumble and out comes the shyte. Continuous snide comments that go on and on and on.
I on the other hand at least pout some sort of case forward in response to your ignorant posts that I am thoroughly sick of.
The PC Gamble:-
Yup a massive gamble a whole 329 quid matched on Betfair at 8/1.
That’s really a huge amount between 4 million customers. Considering Betfair were the only people who went 8/1 everyone else was 5/1 and 6/1 although Sporting bet went 13/2 for about 5 minutes.
When Menorah fell on the 28th of Jan and more or less ended his festival hopes PC price was cut right across the boards and then the Game Spirit announcement and the traders moved in.
I repeat…There has been no massive gamble on the horse only traders taking advantage of mug punters following like sheep.
Most of the money traded around 6/1 and 5/1 on Betfair was there along time ago and that’s why 20k more has been traded on PC than SS but despite that he remains 2nd fav.
If you are going to spout shyte without thought you should expect someone to disagree with you. If you continue to be abusive I’ll play the game until either you and I get banned because I can’t see me having to go and you not as I did not start this rubbish you did and you keep on doing it every chance you get.
So keep it coming sunshine let’s see what you got because I really don’t give a fook and as David Cormack seems prepared to allow you a free hand and let you abuse people as it takes your fancy why the hell not.

Mate there has been no gamble. The bookmakers do the same thing year in year out without taking as much as 2 bananas.
They consider the only possible danger to Sprinter Sacre to be Peddler’s Cross. So it’s like a preemptive strike.
Colin Tizzard has me a bit confused. I thought Cue Card was in the Jewson but it seems like he wasn’t declared.
He’s maybe very confident of beating SS on Friday but if that confidence is badly misplaced then what?
Maybe he’s thinking Aintree if things go wrong on Friday………….he best book a seat now
February 15, 2012 at 11:12 #391440HGM and Zarks: Please calm down and show some respect to each other, it really is tiresome seeing all the drivel you spout at each other!!
HGM: FYI Cue Card has been taken out of Fridays race due to a knock and goes str8 to the festival
February 15, 2012 at 12:21 #391448I don’t believe there’s been much, if any, new money on Peddlers Cross either. Some ante post books are worse than on the day markets as some races stand. Ladbrokes go 9/4, 11/4 and 4/1 on the first three. 3/1 vs 2/1 against a horse who beat him 18 lengths ?
February 16, 2012 at 11:56 #391665With French Opera declared to run tomorrow giving 5lbs to Sprinter Sacre, we should get some sort of idea how good SS is. French Opera is at his absolute best when fresh and will run to something like 160.
February 16, 2012 at 16:21 #391685Whilst he has a decent record fresh I wouldn’t say he’s at his absolute best. Just counting his NH runs he’s 3/7 racing after a break of 60 days or more with 5 further wins coming after a break of less than 60 days.
February 16, 2012 at 16:27 #391687I don’t count his seasonal debut last season, barely had a race whilst finishing last on soft ground.
