Ruling Court looked out of the top drawer at Sandown today, quickening clear under hands and heels despite looking green.
Taken the 12s.
July 25, 2024 at 20:41 #1702671I was at Sandown. He didn’t blow me away as a physical specimen in the paddock but looked ready.
I was more taken with the Ralph Beckett colt STANHOPE GARDENS.
In the race, RULING COURT didn’t break well but Buick never had a moment’s worry and the fact the horse was backed in from 8/13 to 4/9 suggested a lot of people knew he was very good. He quickened very nicely and Buick didn’t have to do a lot to come home by five and a half lengths.
Is he a Guineas or Derby winner? Far too early to tell – there was a lot to like about the performance and it may be the second and third are also decent.
July 26, 2024 at 19:51 #1702756Had a byte on Chancelor @ 33s today..needs to win at Ascot but was thinking derby also..but not in the market
July 27, 2024 at 00:38 #1702791I will be watching Kempton mid winter evenings later this year to spot Applebys number one Guineas horse kick off .

August 23, 2024 at 11:30 #1705550Henri Matisse 16-1
August 23, 2024 at 23:16 #1705640I’m on Henri Matisse as well, have backed him on his two starts so far. He’s a bit short for me tomorrow but backed him for this and put him in a double with Falling Snow for the 1000gns as well.
I think he can be very good, hope he goes the Churchill route this autumn, I have him for the Dewhurst in a few accas as well.Hope Jessie’s colt doesn’t burst my bubble tomorrow

Won a traditional strong maiden at Newmarket with ease very strong at the line. he in at the weekend at Sandown. And if he turns up and win there price go down.

November 1, 2024 at 23:46 #1711411Henri Matisse is out to 40s after the French experiment gone wrong. He’s a quare one. I doubled down and took the 40s and backed him to win at Del Mar tonight. Come on bonkers Henri put your best foot forward!
November 2, 2024 at 03:26 #1711432Checked the result, looks a nice price now Green.
Shows how much I follow the Breeders Cup, I didn’t know Henri and Lake Victoria were running :o)
Just read she won as well.November 2, 2024 at 07:14 #1711434She got squashed on the rail, knocked back and boxed in (none of which was Moore’s fault just gate position and the tight track), came through them and zoomed off leaving them standing. It was great.
HM was drawn wide so was dropped in then had a serene canter round the outside, covering more ground than the rest but was able to get in a nice rhythm.November 2, 2024 at 09:39 #1711458Reminded me very much of magicians win in the turf. Obviously loved the ground and had no problem with the bends. Yet another Wooton basset big winner. Looks a lovely horse and tricky choice for Ryan in the guineas now. I’m sure the lads see lion in winter as their Derby hope. Plus there is twain and expanded. Aidan has some talent to play with for next season.Henri could turn out to be a very good horse. Love the quirky horses none more so than the legend of legends blackbeard.
