Gio Ponti’s turf rating was 121, obtained in the Man O War (similarly Twice Over obtained 123 in Champion Stake but his highest rating was at Santa Anita).
Paco Boy is mentioned in the Press Release – rating of 124.
January 12, 2010 at 21:57 #269539Sea The Stars only 136……Hmmm this handicapping since is imperfect.
How they give F+G his rating is must be quite a story coz he is not a 129 or whatever he was given
January 12, 2010 at 22:03 #269541Rachel Alexandra is 1 point below Fame & Glory, and only 2 points ahead of Gladiatorus. Pull the other one !
I just can’t grasp the concept of these point allocation systems. Some of these horses are running on flat tracks in America on polytrack or dirt, and some are running over here with undulations and different goings. They also have tight rails over there, and races are a bit more hell for leather.
How can you take Rip Van Winkle’s Sandown performance and compare it to something like Zenyattas run in the classic. Different tracks, different conditions, different rails, different pace, aswell different temperatures and air humidity.
The whole system is flawed. Infact any points allocation or handicap system is flawed. Do they take the use of lasix into consideration ?
meh…stuff it.
January 12, 2010 at 23:15 #269557Sea The Stars’ best performance on ratings should be his Eclipse performance surely?
January 13, 2010 at 07:51 #269570What I can’t understand is how Youmzain & Conduit have the same rating? Surely Conduit was the classier horse & beat Youmzain at Ascot.
January 13, 2010 at 08:42 #269572The only time the two ran against each other was in the Arc, in which Youmzain finished two heads in front of Conduit.
