Any idea why Polly Pott has been sent to Ben Pauling?
Seems an odd choice of trainer to send her to if you’re trying to win a 1000 Guineas?
May 6, 2023 at 22:01 #1646933With that 7lb gender allowance, she’s got 2024 Triumph Hurdle winner written all over her!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"May 6, 2023 at 22:31 #1646935The owners have plenty of horses with Ben and they were having conversations with him about broadening his horizons to the flat scene. I wouldn’t think she’d have much chance of winning with any other trainer anyway but it’s still a nice gesture to provide him with a previous group 2 winner.
May 6, 2023 at 22:44 #1646936Good luck with Mawj Ham..Jac

May 7, 2023 at 12:24 #1646996Caernarfon now best price 25s. C’mon!!
May 7, 2023 at 12:32 #1646998I can remember Henry Cecil saying that he’d have preferred more time (although she had won her trial, she had subsequently suffered a setback) with Bosra Sham before she landed this in 1996.
While Tahiyra isn’t worthy of comparison with that mighty filly (yet), I’d love to see her outclass her opponents in the same style today: winning despite not being at her best.
Remarquee for the forecast.
May 7, 2023 at 12:33 #1646999Powerdress was ahead of Hi Royal at Newmarket on soft over 7f LTO 66/1 is too big, okay its a big field going to post but Hannon can produce one at a price in these races.
15/8 the favourite… Wasn’t overly keen on her last year but nothing has jumped out as better since

May 7, 2023 at 13:14 #1647006Needed more time, hasn’t grown, some might be forgiven for wondering why he’s bothering to run her.
We will find out soon enough.

Very impressive in that Breeders Cup i thought so difficult to knock out the top four you would imagine.
May 7, 2023 at 15:28 #1647023I’ve joined Nathan on Powerdress 66s ew 4pl, I really liked her prep run and the bit of stamina on the dam’s side should see her home. I added a little ew double with Maman Joon for the Oaks as well.
The other one I think is a good ew price is Embrace who also didn’t get a hard time in her prep run. If she doesn’t pull her chance away she could be there at the business end.
Those are my two, had to refrain from backing half a dozen.
May 7, 2023 at 15:48 #1647025Give us a wave Jac!! Well done and everyone else on, what a tough filly and a great finish. Well done with 4th as well
May 7, 2023 at 15:48 #1647026wd winners. Fav carried across a bit but they won’t change it.
May 7, 2023 at 15:48 #1647027Well done Jac, ham and others
if you backed Triptych’s selections over the years at Newmarket blind to a one pound stake you could have bought a racehorse by now..

May 7, 2023 at 15:59 #1647028This was far more thrilling in comparison to yesterday’s damp squib 2000.
Mawj has more grit than a sandpaper factory.
Congratulations to those who backed her👍👍👍
May 7, 2023 at 16:03 #1647030WD winners
Happy with the 4th place
May 7, 2023 at 22:38 #1647063Thanks Green, Mike, Ghost, Nathan & Wilts.

What a race that was seeing the two fillies pulling away from the rest of the field in one of the most exciting finishes I have seen since Ouija Board and Alexander Goldrun in the Nassau Stakes.
Went to see Mawj in the cooling down paddock after the race and you wouldn’t have thought she’d run a race at all, cool as a cucumber.
Well done Ham and anyone else who backed Mawj and Wilts with Caernarfon at 50/1.
Jac
