    No 6 has to be old Mad Militant, who used to turn up in all the 12F claimers at Wolverhampton in the mid 90’s when I was a regular up there.

    No 1 Northern Saddler – must have seen him run 30 or more times as he turned up at all the tracks on my jumping circuit. Don’t think the owner ever had another horse either.

    Correct.
    Must be great owning ones like that, wins all over the place. Just had a quick look on rp, 16 wins over fences and hurdles, ran 91 times. Fine beast.

    Did you ever go to an aw dirt strip jump meeting ap?
    I never made it to one, it looked bizarre on tv.
    The old lingfield equitrack? strip, horses chasing the leader was like someone stood on the back of a truck holding an industrial dust and crap sprayer in their faces every race.
    I had an excellent time of it on the flat on that old surface.
