Have to agree with CAS on the relative merits of China and Russia here, HDLG. Russia is no longer a superpower – of it ever really was one – as it simply lacks the economic heft.
The simple fact is that China is going to emerge as the world’s dominant force and will soon overtake the US, if it hasn’t already done so. However, we are not all going to be subjugated to the whims of Beijing, no matter how much scaremongering the rightwing nut jobs throw at us. Nobody in this country is going to be deprived of the internet or forced to learn Mandarin.
