Kauto Star has a tendency to lug left approaching many of his fences and is almost certainly capable of better than he has shown today (RPR 184+).
On any LH track, he would undoubtedly stuff Desert Orchid, questionable ratings or not.RPRs are always inflated when compared to ORs RH – (I am sure RPR would have had Desert Orchid well into the 190s – probably 192+). The officical handicapper sounds like he will be rating KS 180 after this so that still leaves him with about half a stone to find.
Grasshopper – I thought I made it pretty clear that KS has the superior form to Denman as it stands and clearly Denman is the horse that needs to prove he is better than KS.
You’re right TDK, at this moment in time Kauto is a better horse than Denman, has superior form and far greater achievements so it is correct that Denman is the one with things to prove. Denman will win the Lexus which will set us up for an excellent GC barring injuries. Wooohooo, can’t wait!
