Quote: from Punter ex C4 on 4:24 pm on Feb. 23, 2002[br]Everyone at some point in time has suspected that some races are bent. I have had connections with a couple of yards in the past through ownership and KNOW that some races are bent !

With the explosion of betting exchanges such as Betfair who are quoting that they are turning over £10m per week on horses there has surely never been a better time to make money from ensuring your horse loses rather than wins.

I went maximum today on Platinum Duke, or intended to but while shopping around it became evident that the horse would not win today.

Over 40k was taken on this horse at odds of 6/4 upto 7/4 yet the horse opened 11/10 and returned even money.

Two furlongs out the horse had the field strung out and under pressure yet didnt kick on and allowed the beaten looking horses to rechallenge and go away. From looking like a procession 2 out to finishing 5th was hardly suprising following the betting patterns.

Does anyone think I am misreading the race by having a biased opinion or was the horse never really given the office to go and win ?

Im not fussed financially as I covered the bet after seeing the money against the horse but I hate posting a losing MAX and this was 2 in a row.

But what do people think of betting exchanges and the potential skullduggery that they make easy to carry out ? I mean take 45k on your horse being pulled or win a race for 3k ?

    Any thoughts betting people ?

the triple champion has nothing left to prove but i think that time is up still makes him the one to beat dont know the price exactley 5/2 ring any bells looks like trouble is actually in the same form as two years ago and just might now have the edge.
Quote: from hudsonmat on 12:33 pm on Nov. 12, 2001[br]Bloody Hell Matron Comp entries closed early today!!!

Couldn’t get mine on in time today but would have been as follows:

    12.50 Southwell – Ballet Master
2.20 Southwell – Colonel Mustard
2.00 Carlisle – Indian Wings

The rules for this system are very straightforward:

    1. The selection is the most recent winner from all of the days races.

    2. If more than one, back them all unless they are in the same race. Horses in the same race are discounted.

    Thats it!!!

I will post all results for November later on today when I have a bit more time. All can be found in the competition entries for the relevant day.
