C4 racing (and that Morning Line, which I can’t watch at all anymore) needs a shot in the head not the arm. Put it out of its misery please.

Just noticed Arbre de Vie is entered up for the County, Martin Pipe and the Albert Bartlett on Friday. Oh and the Silver Bowl at Kempton on Saturday. Races over 2m, 2m 4, 2m 5 and 3m. He’s a guesser ain’t he? (Top one tho!)

What a difference a day makes! Dodging Bullets a good winner for me. What a brilliant bit of placing by Mr Nicholls with that Aux Ptits Soins on its first run in the UK. Looking at its French form it beat a decent animal, Arbre de Vie, which has since won two for Mr Mullins. Too late now though! With some good ammunition to fire on the next two days Nicholls could still be top trainer.

Regarding Vibrato Valtat I think today was his seventh run since October, so perhaps his season was over before he even started today. I wonder if for Nicholls, unlike some other trainers, Cheltenham is not the be-all and end-all of the year. He does spend a lot of time the rest of the year mopping up good prizes (especially on Saturdays!). He certainly is not afraid to run them and usually you can be confident they are fit, again unlike some others.
