But you’ve got to admit its funny in a cold winter when she’s got that ridiculous fur outfit on that an eskimo wouldnt be seen dead in. Pity this year was mild it may be motheaten in her cupboard by now

Can’t remember if it owns Great Leighs as well, but even without it this is turning into a year to forget for Arena, isn’t it! Increasing delays at Donny, the not uncommon flooding problems at Worcester (now with added dead fish), and poor old Southwell laid waste. There were already a profit warning issued before the last-named incident, and that is sure to realised in spades before too long.

I didnt realise the situation at Southwell was that bad I thought it was stand damage that was delaying it, well Arena have problems now dont they they will probably have to let Kempton have some races (ATR bosses will love that) Great Leighs cant take any. It’s a sham really. I hope the bosses at Sedgefield take note if they get the go ahead is all weather falling apart. Arena cant afford to lose Southwell as it has a majority of the tv fixtures being all weather.
Wonder what the bookmakers are offering for 18 Oct 2007 to be the opening day any bookmakers want to give us some odds
July 16, 2007 at 15:37 in reply to: Who is the most annoying person in Horseracing Broadcasting? #108139Drone cant be Nick Luck as he has Classic and Winner under his name which are two words I wouldnt associate with Mr Luck
Great Leighs emailed me today to say the start date has been put back to 18 Oct subject to HRA approval
July 16, 2007 at 06:26 in reply to: Who is the most annoying person in Horseracing Broadcasting? #108063Well Luck makes me gringe when I know hes on, but each to his own if you like him then fair enough I won’t ever agree. Best presenter is Sean Boyce just right not loud and over the top like Chapman and not boring like Tony Ennis he does the job he is paid to do and he points out the market movers brilliantly and entertains.
July 15, 2007 at 21:38 in reply to: Who is the most annoying person in Horseracing Broadcasting? #108037NICK LUCK so up his bottom he can see through his nose. I cant believe hes getting married who would want to marry such a pompous stuck up dweeb is beyond me
Why ATR dont go freeview is beyond me an extra eight million viewers the increase in audience would send up advertising revenue and make some of the Racing UK courses think twice about extending their deal with the channel. ATR need to sort themselves out Exeter is now run by the company behind Racing UK so ATR will no doubt lose that. Ascot have signed to Turf TV so ATR could eventually lose Ascot if Turf TV worm there way around.
As a virgin media customer I lose out with ATR because they are part owned by Sky they never mention Virgin at all its always Sky channel 415 and we dont have the red button facility so miss out on clashing races) Ive emailed them numerous times but they do not respond. Why did TalkSport drop Monday Night Racing from Windsor I know last year they were covering the world cup but this year they havent bothered either. One other thing if you watch TV dramas they always listen to the radio for horse racing but there isnt a racing radio staion (mainly due to the fact the bookmakers set up premium phones lines) perhaps a money spinner would be to set up a station on DAB.
Its ridiculous and embarrassing for the industry I hope Manchester (Salford) learn from it.
Another court case for ATR to recoup the money of the five year deal they’ve got for the rights Maybe?
Who owns Great Leighs is it Arena
If you watched the moring line on Sat 14 July can you tell me if Emma Spencer actually contributed to the show apart from give out the details for Salisbury. She just sat there and twiddled her pen for 55 minutes. Nice work if you can get it. The show really needs a revamp
